Although the X-Grip is made by Ram Mount, the USB port is not part of their offerings that I have seen, this would have been an add-on someone did to make it more useful. Still pretty cool IMO.

Recommend using distilled water, after getting the system as dry as you can. Is there a reason that you don't use antifreeze?

Nice! That would be something to see. This is about the best you get in Utah.

To all of those that own the 2014. What is the best mileage that you got out of the OEM tire or tyre? Just curious. Thanks.

I hated the OEM tires so bad, I pulled them off at 2200 miles. They weren't worn out, but I never regretted it.

Took her to work today for the first time.
With new 140/70/18 tire (meant to get 140/80/18 as 130/80 is stock), was turning 7K rpm at 80mph definitely going to 17/43 (at 16/44 now) maybe even 17/41 if the notion hits.
Got to do the valves ASAP as well they get pretty noisey once the oil gets hot.

FWIW lengthening the final drive doesn't always help fuel economy. maybe it's different on a VFR800 because they have good low-end but putting a weaker bike in the not-powerband (idk what to call it) will make it so the engine has to struggle and use more fuel. surely someone else has done it though and can tell you how it went.

I had the stock tires on for 5500. Never liked them from day one but finally got around to changing them out. Front tire was hardly worn and the rear tire had the racing stripe down the middle with tread left to burn. Anyway bought some Michelin PR4s and have not been on the bike yet to break them in. So I'll have to speak to them later when I get some miles on them. [IMG][IMG]

I did the same as 01ragtop, had PR4s on after less than 2000 miles. They were fine until they started to slide a bit in the wet after less than 5000, Bridgestone T30s were great for almost 8000 after that. Now on Metzeler Roadtec01s which if anything seem even better than the T30s so far.

#1. I don't live in a place that will freeze. Hence no anti-freeze needed.

Today I deleted my ugly orange turn signals, of which I only had 3 since my recent sprint to Washington DC. Replaced them with some cheapo amazon units, though I'll be replacing those cause I ruined one of the terminals on the end of the hair-thin wires. Also, they are extremely dull as far as I can tell so that won't do. I don't know what I expected for $8 per set, lesson learned. While I was in there I removed the rear mud fender and now have to find a place for the license plate, though that shouldnt be too hard. This bike is starting to look pretty good, can't wait to do the wheels. Not a lot of cosmetic stuff left besides a new seat and maybe mirrors.

Edit: you'll have to turn your head for these...

Done the valves on the rear cylinder, went with .005" (.127mm).
Found out that lifting the cam is a necessity particularly if you set the valves while on the heel of the cam, as the opposite end is under pressure.

Got a 17t on the way, which is stock for the 750, my rear tire is a bit shorter than stock. It amounts to about 1 tooth on the rear difference according to gearing calculator.
So if I get a 43 rear cog it will put me at same as stock gearing for the 750.
My rider weight of lack thereof easily makes up for the 5 ponies lost to the 700cc tariff engine.

Loving the bike, other than always looking for another gear if cruising over 45-50mph which is almost always.

Today I installed 1 inch mirror extender blocks. Then I rerouted my brake and clutch lines to the outside of the forks all in preparation for the Spiegler LSL handlebar conversion kit that is supposed to arrive tomorrow. I also replaced the brass bushing in the clutch lever.

If the initial drain looked like muck (and this suggestion may be too late), you should use a "flush" solution of 50% white vinegar and 50% distilled water. The vinegar will act as a de-scaler. Run it up to temperature, and then allow it to completely cool down. Some folks let the solution sit overnight. Drain it and then refill with distilled water, run it up to temp, allow it to cool, drain, and then install the coolant solution.

Was refurbing a Wiring Harness and found one wire (BRN + WHTstripe, 12V Return in Lighting Circuit) was a different brown.
    Decided to unwrap it, see whats goin on;

One wire had broke off, probably from me handling it, but it shouldn't
Honda would not do this, so its probably from a "Supplier", hidden under tape.
Checked all End Connectors, Cleaned, (better) Soldered, Heat Shrink'd, WD40'd, Taped, Zip Tied, Armoural,,..
The bigger gauge wires get the Soldering Treatment.
