I'd be interested in seeing the flow rate of my high mileage injectors. I should have this done.

Well, yesterday I took my girlfriends oldest daughter for her first ever motorcycle ride ... she loved it ... she even noted the 'feeling of freedom' that we all experience. Motorcyclist in the making???

Not today but on Sunday, I changed the oil and filter. According to my records, the last one was during a valve service, uh, 3 years and 16K km ago. So it was due but not only that, it was a K&N filter. This time a Honda OEM filter went on.

Well, eBay was pretty good to me. I got a set of factory bags and brackets. Can't wait to try them out. Kinda dig the black bags on the silver bike

After a fun day of installing a new chain and all, he's off and running. Even though I'm not totally sold on this new process installing the link. I'll have to trust that R&K knows what they are doing.

So after I installed the cleaned injectors I took the original injectors to have them cleaned, as I will be swapping them out with OC_Landspeeder as he wanted in on a clean running machine too!

I dropped them off yesterday at 9AM and by 3:30PM they were ready for pick up. Here are the results for my original injectors. These have a little over 60k miles of use.

Got home from my Montana trip last night at about 10 pm. I'm tired. Happy to be home.

While in Montana I changed the fuel settings on my Power Commander II, adding a little fuel at idle, then more at mid and high. It helped the bike run better, even in the higher altitudes. Saw mileage range from 42 mpg - 51mpg. Bike runs cooler too. It was running pretty hot, so it must have been very lean.
Now that I'm back near sea level?

OMFG!!!!! My bike freaking flys!!! And this isn't even comparing it to how it ran in thinner air, but to how it ran before I left. Jeebus H. Cripes it's fast. I had to pass someone to get to an offramp and nearly over shot it. It feels like I'm on a totally different bike. Much fun! I don't think I'm going to make any changes to whatever I set it to, cuz damn! I'm still getting great take from my tank, but the power is seriously up on my bike.

Now all I need to do is order the 100# clutch springs.

I like the look. Is it the quality you consider OK?

    Affirm.

Here is the ebay listing - http://www.ebay.com/itm/VFR800-2014-and-VFR800X-CROSSRUNNER-2015-WHITE-HUGGER/112475101621?_trksid=p2047675.c100012.m1985&_trkparms=aid=777003&algo=DISCL.MBE&ao=2&asc=44770&meid=74f06000aa5d497f9b98901cfa522587&pid=100012&rk=5&rkt=12&sd=112457456444 (seller is grahamm84)

Because it looked basically the same as this one (Pyramid): https://www.pyramid-plastics.co.uk/...939&d=VFR800F+White+Hugger&partNumber=071966C
I asked Graham what, if any, were the differences. He told me that they were exactly the same because he used to work for Pyramid and make those huggers. Originally his ebay ad said no delivery to the US but after I contacted him, he said he'd be willing to ship (and shipping was pretty reasonable IMO).

The price break from the "official" Pyramid product was good enough for me to go ahead and order. It arrived in a week or two (pretty normal from the UK I think) - the box was crushed to heck but surprisingly, the bubble wrapped hugger inside was perfectly intact. I would give quality of build, however, a B/B+, Maybe an A- if I were feeling generous. It looked more like what I would imagine a "factory second" might look like (I don't have an "official" Pyramid product to compare it to). The paint/finish on the outside/topside of the hugger is very good IMO (the white is plain white and not "speckled/frosted" like the Honda paint but it's underneath so I think it still looks ok). I don't know what the Pyramid product looks like paint finish wise but I ended up getting a gloss white Testor's paint marker and touching up the "edges" of the hugger all the way around (I don't think you would really notice when it's on the bike but I felt better adding a little more white).

On the underside of the hugger, there were several spots where it looked like "accidental cuts" took place - you ever use a hacksaw and have it jump out of the groove/cut you were working on and cause a new groove to be cut? Kinda like that. Again, not really noticeable after installation but if you have OCD, you might not be too happy about it... haha

After I installed it, from behind, it looks like there is more "gap" between the tire and hugger on the right hand side than the left - again, without a different product to compare it to, I have no way of knowing if that's the way "it's supposed to be". The instructions say to gradually tighten down and adjust alignment of the hugger as needed but IMO there really isn't much adjustment possible. The kit comes with some minimal hardware (looks stainless, hopefully it is) and, except for my fumble fingers dropping the 6M flange head bolts a few times in that cramped area, it was relatively easy to install.

A black painted metal bracket attaches to the hugger with three 6M flange head bolts and to the rear swingarm using the two factory holes/two 6M flange head bolts. I added some stainless fender washers between the 3 lock nuts and underside of the hugger. The instructions say to use/re-use the rearmost factory chain guard bolt. I tried that and couldn't get it to bite after adding the hugger so I ended up using the factory 6M shift lever pinch bolt (I had taken it off and replaced it with something else - poor man's quick shifter build still in progress) which is a little longer than the original bolt.

The flange bolts supplied with the kit are IMO on the "softer" side. No problem with the bolts/nuts attaching the bracket to the hugger but for the swingarm bolts, I started stripping one (felt it start giving) and partially stripped the second one when tightening (and yes, I was using the correct size tool). If I were to do it over or if I have to retighten/readjust those bolts, I might replace them with stronger/sturdier/different head 6M bolts.

Would I buy this product and/or from Graham again? Yeah, I think so. I think the issues/problems aren't really noticeable from like 4-10 feet or more away But suum cuique... :)

Oh, and fwiw, the round sticker on the top of the hugger is my addition - it comes plain/smooth...

Well I rode into work today but picked up my 01 injectors that I dropped off yesterday. Almost had a very embarrassing moment. As I was backing my my back into the parking stall, I felt a little soft spot under my right foot, so before I put more weight on it, I stopped and looked down...A friggin banana peel! Whew, that would have not only been embarrassing had I fallen, I would have to had put a post in Randy's "dropped" thread. ;)

In case you don't have a subscription to my rebuild thread, here's the results of the injectors...
