My bike has a working lcd. i can read all of the information easily enough in the daytime, but i do have a sort of burned in circle where things are lighter. at night, i cant read anything inside of this burned out area. it's not a fuse issue... i think the screen needs replaced. how tough is this to do? i hate electrical work, and would like to avoid soldering and such... is it connected with a connection of some sort, or is it soldered in place? can one buy the screen online? should i just deal with it, and ignore my temp gauge at night?

Is this what you are trying to say? burned LCD in a circle. Same thing with mine and John (JZH) from VFRD helped me with a spare LCD.
I have received the LCD from John and will be replacing it soon. On the other hand i have read about replacing the LCD polarization film on the burnt LCD and it will come back to life. You will have to carefully do it yourself. Google for "replacing LCD polarization film on speedometer LCD" . You should get the steps and the sites to buy the film.
Infact you can even try inverted/negative LCD mod where the back ground is dark and the information is displayed in white.
    Worth giving a try.
