Vintage Japanese Motorcycle club (VJMC) had a nice display. Highlight being The only RC30 I have seen in person. Beautiful, just beautiful wish I could have heard it run. Still can't get pictures to upload!

Now the oddities! Honda CBX1000 stuffed in an ATC frame. Wish I could have heard it run. Old character on a Honda dream he personalized . Rode up with two other guys on beautifully restored Dreams when they stopped old guy put his bike on center stand when his friends asked why he told them his floats stick and the gas would drain out. 20171006_150151.jpg 20171006_150153.jpg 20171006_150210.jpg 20171006_165443.jpg 20171006_165452.jpg 20171006_165459.jpg 20171006_165514.jpg 20171006_165523.jpg

Dam, to think that nobody really wanted either the RZ500RN or the TZR250 when they were new here in Canada. My RZ500 was bought in 1986 as a non current, for $4300.00. The TZR also sat in the showroom for over a year. Think I got that for $4600.00! Ended up trading the RZ500 for a new RZ350 so I could race in the RZ Cup. I turned my TZR250 into a Formula 3 spec. bike, then sold it to race in the 600 class. Big mistake. Have never had such a good handling bike since. Could embarrass the 750's! Motus had a tent with bikes and engines. Man those things are BIG. My 5'7" self is no way straddling one of those beasts. 20171006_133041.jpg 20171006_133057.jpg 20171006_133131.jpg

A few other bikes from my youth that I still think are cool. 20171006_152855.jpg 20171006_152855.jpg 20171006_141653.jpg 20171006_144842.jpg Water buffalo, Had a coworker back in the day who raced one of these was wicked fast in straight line didn't handle at all. Sound was awesome.
That did it for our 1st day at Barber. We saw everything but the museum. We were going to come back Saturday and spend most of the day checking it out BUT mother nature had different plans namely hurricane Nate! Spent Friday night at the hotel watching the weather channel and trying to decide what to do. Thought at first we could spend 1/2 a day at Barber museum then head back to Jacksonville ahead of storm. Went to bed that night and felt good about our plan. Nate had different plans speed up and shifted east over night. Coming straight to Birmingham, Weather was going down hill fast. Woke up that morning and fog was so thick could not see the bikes in the parking lot or the parking lot! Packed up put on the rain suit and back home we went. Rode through about 2 hours of light rain and strong wind before we out ran it. 497 miles later we were home. So I'll be going back next year to finish the trip and see the museum. Worth the trip would recommend it anyone but most of all to those who have motorcycles in there blood.
