Get your flash light out and look below the carbs, there should be a black plastic knob to adjust idle.

thank you..I met them in a parking lot to look at bike thurs night. I did not buy bike yet, I was kind of holding off until I found out more on idle adjust. I thought I might have to take tank and airbox off to do it

    thanks again!!

as mentioned above, look for a black knob on the end of a black cable to adjust idle on left fairing. at $1000 that bike is a no-brainer buy, imho. :wheelie:

dying around idle speed may be due to carbs that need cleaning.

grab that bike asap. this forum can help you solve any problems it might have, so no worries ! :D

you're getting an unbelievable deal BECAUSE it doesn't idle so well.

if you have an mc license, it's essential that you test-ride the bike so you can check out the gears and shifting, brakes, etc.

A low idle might be the idle adjuster, but my guess is it will more likely be dirt in the pilot jets. If the adjuster doesn't help then that would be my suggestion.

    GOOD DEAL !!

    dija ride it ?

doesn't matter if carbs were cleaned sometime and then the bike sat unused for months; could still be partially clogged.

I bought it, found knob on left side of bike and turned idle up..bike needs some help..lol..it runs a little rough from 1/2 to full throttle, all most seems a little rich and does not build temp. going to pull plugs and see what they look like, PO said they put a new fuel pump and filter on it..so who knows. I picked it up 1.5hrs ago and have all plastic torn off. going to look for some used plastics and if I can not find and at reasonable price I will fix and repaint these. I used to own a body shop so it is not a big deal

I bought it to take to our place in key west to keep down there. right now I have my 99 vfr800 there , it is near perfect and I do not like that sitting there outside, I have it covered well ...but I need something to ride there, my wife has a CBR250R she keep there which is perfect size

after warming up the engine, first thing i'd suggest is a compression check.
