Hi all, it's probably been asked but I can't find anything anywhere.
Has anyone mounted a first gen R6 front end onto their gen 6?
Fork diameter & length should work & fork centres in triples looks to be very close if not exact?

There is a thread on VFRDiscussion.com where one member put up list of viable forks and triple trees that will work well with the VFRs. My recollection is that the list was posted in the download section but doing a quick scan I did not see it where I thought it would be. In the meantime I'll see if I can dig it up.

Couldn't find it on the website but I did find this early version of the document. It may have info that will help you.

What would be the benefit of putting a 1st gen R6 fork on a 6th Gen VFR800? You would have to re-spring it, and use the R6 front wheel/brakes/etc. So you will have to delete the linked brakes and get a 3-spoke wheel. It would be easier to just re-spring and rebuild the existing 6th Gen front end and keep the linked brakes. They are good quality hardware that works really well (when they're in good condition).

He’s talking 5th gen, and advantage would be full front adjustability, stiffer forks and better brakes.
Cheaper and easier to go with CBR600F4 forks

He said on a 6th Gen.

However, I was thinking that if he swaps in 1st Gen R6 front end, he still would have to re-spring/rebuild that whole thing including the brakes. It's not like he's swapping in a brand new or near new set that already is properly set up for a VFR, whether it's a 5th or 6th Gen. Point being, the effort it takes is about the same (or less) as just rebuilding the existing front end on the VFR with new spring/valve/fluid along with front brake rebuild, etc. One can even get rebound damping on the stock forks. A good quality suspension set up on a VFR makes a huge difference (especially since the 5th/6th are old now).

    Step up to the 2004-2006 R1 forks/Brakes.
