Hi everyone, Thanks for having me. I picked up my first VFR on the weekend. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. Came across a dealer who had a 2014 plated VFR800 on special price to quit stock. I thought it was a demo model initially but NO, brand spanker.
The good wife gave the nod of approval and the deal was done, didn't even have a test ride.
My current ride is and old 1995 YZF600RG that I have had for 14years so I was well due for an update. The seating position is very similar, so happy with that.
Look forward to scrolling through the no doubt boundless realms of details and information and getting to know you.
The weather in Adelaide at the moment is not great for riding, and I am no fan of riding in the wet:Rain: if I don't have to. Clocked up 150kms over the weekend and over the moon
The Yam is now up for sale here is a pic

G'day Petey! Love your yammer! So purdy! :Boobies7: I had two fizzers (FZR600 and FZR1000) many moons ago. Had lots of fun on those old gals.

We have a quite a few of your fellow mates as regulars on here, even one or two from Adelaide. I'm sure they'll pop in for a chat when they can.

Now take off your shoes and pop open a cold one mate! You soon gonna be one of the nutters like us.:Bowl: ....oh, and I almost forgot, hurry and put up a full pic of your girl or else the natives be restless! :Flame:

1 week down, 300ks, new tail tidy fitted, many many hours looking at slip-ons, crash knobs, huggers and other bits ordered some rim reflective stickers.
Adjusted preload 2nd ring front and 9 clicks rear and rebound by about 1/2 turn front & 1/4 turn rear more from std, bike response nice and even. Any running in tips? Have been taking it very cruisy not labouring or over revving
    So stoked..

Nice Pete! Is that a standard model or the deluxe (not sure what they call it in OZ)?

Hi Jason, I believe it is the Deluxe version, only the one version available in OZ , it has the Centre Stand, heated grips, ABS, Cancelling Indicators and Traction control. I think I have decided to go with the R&G crash protectors, as much as I don't want to drill the plastic they just look far less obtrusive. And I wont need to take them off every 4000kms when I change the oil. I am hoping they may also offer that little bit more protection as positioned that little further forward, though I will never know:Rockon::rolleyes:

Yet, that be the Deluxe with special sauce, lettuce, cheese, and sesame seed bun. Here they sell both....when they did sell them. Only 2014/2015 models appeared to be sold here. We don't get any more I guess. Sad us peeps don't buy more so Honda can justify keeping them here.

Well, normally the crash pucks that require you to drill the plastics are the ones that mount to a rigid part of the frame and are just that, more rigid in a get off....cheers to that. I would hope that they don't require you to remove them to remove the plastics, however, from what you wrote it sounds like they do.

Keep the rubba side down brotha!

IMG_20170812_192545.jpg A few more k's clocked up, though not as many as I would have liked, with wet weather an the man flu slowing me down. Have had the rear cowl supplied now from the dealer, it was not with the bike when purchased. Have fitted the R&G knobs, tank pad, rim stickers and ordered a rear hugger and fender extender. Slip-on next on the list once the Yam is moved on.

i had their fender extender years ago for a Fireblade - also hated the tape so used Black silicone instead - it never came off.

Well had the rear puncture plugged and so far so good.

But I cant believe it, after all my years I have finally had a bike fall over of the side stand and it had to be the first brand new bike I've ever owned.... FAAAAAARRRRRKKKKK.:Hurt:
Yep yesterday morning rolled her out the garage, started her up, wandered down to open the carport, turned around and in slow motion watched it crash to the ground. Very lucky and glad I fitted the R&G Knobs, busted the clutch lever, snapped the wear peg off the foot peg (which was way too long anyway) a small scratch on the crash knob, bar end, and pillion handle. Picked up a copy Clutch lever on the way home and back in action.
I guess the two positives is that the money I spent on the crash knobs has been recovered, and I now know I can pick my bike up.

Welcome. Man that Yamaha is CLEAN looking for it's age. I'd have a hard time letting that one go. Though one look in my garage and you'd see I have a hard time letting anything go
