Hey all.... picked up a '96 VFR a few weeks ago. Finally got around to tearing some of it apart today to see what I'm dealing with. Curious if anybody can help identify this regulator. I still plan on installing a voltmeter for peace of mind, but would like to know if this is the stock regulator or aftermarket. FYI.... there are no markings on the unit. No numbers, no nothing.... however, I didn't remove it and look at the back side.

    Thanks in advance!

Back side most likely will have some info which could help narrow down the manufacturer.

Post a pix of that and am sure you will get some help from the experts.

Thanks for the response. I don’t know why the H I didn’t do that yesterday. The bike is in my father-in-law’s heated shop, so will get over there as soon as I can.

Are the Ricks and Electrosport versions supposed to be good stock replacements?

Looks like one of the crappy chinesium ones off of Amazon/eBay. Had one on my vfr when I got it from a junkyard but naturally it was broken. Threw that in the trash, picked up a mosfet style oem r/r off of an 07 fz1, and haven't run into an issue yet. I believe the model number is fh012aa but there are a lot of other options too.

I went with a Rick’s when I added the VFRness. No more overcharging!
