Gave it a long over due cleaning and some wax! Then went for a ride weather was great here to day about 79' F. took the ferry over to A1A and rode along the beach. Birds were enjoying the warm weather also. Dredging barge deepening the river for new larger Panamax ships a lot of people not happy about it. 20180210_162119.jpg 20180210_163126.jpg 20180210_162944.jpg 20180210_163030.jpg

Sorry you’re detached from your ride, I know it’s killing you! If it’s any consolation, I haven’t ridden the VFR in “anger” for several weeks now. A few commutes on the 6 Gen but mostly mundane routes. I’ll be rectifying that next weekend!

So, I know the adapter is from Sebspeed, what about that rearset, where is it from?

Thank you, that's only $106 USD. So even including the $150 for the adapters, that's still so much less than what the "name brands" charge.

Yesterday, I actually got to ride!!! Almost five months without any throttle therapy. I spent two days prior getting things all sorted out.
I did a ride with the Ducati club I ride with. Visited three different places, for a total of about 170 miles. Felt so nice to get time on my bike.

I have a couple more things to fine tune, I found a couple of spots in the fairing I can smooth out better, but man oh man, it was great riding again!

A couple of pics to go along with this post. I was busier riding than photographing.

    20180218_142317.jpg 20180218_142406.jpg 20180218_141854.jpg 20180218_113654.jpg

At first, I was feeling quite like a noob after such a vacation from riding, but it all came back after a short bit. Gotta love when a battered looking 1999 Honda can run away from much newer, vastly more expensive Ducatis. I really am enamored with my old motorbicycle. Still such a capable bike, even with 80,716 miles on it!
The map I installed on the PCII seems to have perked the bike up a lot. A good part of that feeling may just be because I haven't ridden in so long, but it's lifting the front tire when shifting into second gear and as I was coming around a tight turn, I added throttle in first gear while still leaned over and the front tire lifted, even at partial throttle. So, I guess it's working!
The part that amazes me about this bike is that it has nearly 81,000 miles on it, with the bone stock suspension, as worn out as it may be, yet it still rails around turns, still accelerates quickly etc.

I'm really looking forward to getting a better suspension under it and getting it repainted and/or new painted fairings.

While at the Rock Store, I talked to a guy with an older Aprilia sportbike that said he used to own a 2006 VFR, and regrets that he sold it. I'm thinking that basically everyone I've read about or spoke to that's done that feels the same, I think I'll just keep my Raza, even when I get a new bike.

So happy to be riding again!

I worked this weekend but at least got to bring my bike along. Went to Las Vegas Motor Speedway to work the corners for CSS.

My bike in "track ready" form.

A couple of pics of the view from my corner on Sunday, turn 10 as run in the counter clockwise direction. I got to throw the checkered flag on both days! As much as standing around and watching other people enjoy the track, there is a bit of reward in getting to use it too, especially during the 1/2 hour during lunch.

Today I did me weekly thing. I started her up in 25 degrees F and 8 inch's of new snow, and let her idle until the white smoke cleared. Then I put a little more fuel stabilizer in her and topped her off with a full tank of Pure Gas. I revved her up at 155 degrees to the 2-5,000 rpm range to get a sense I was putting some juice back into the battery, I also Annoyed the neighbors when I revved her up slowly to 5,800 rpms a few times before putting her to bed. Condo living has it's pay backs when they stomp above me, and knowing on Monday the upstairs unit has the day off and is hung over. Rev the hell out of it a few times before noon because my garage is directly under their bedroom!;-)

Oh, I so know the pain of having noisy asshole neighbors above. I'm soooo grateful to have moved away from those dicks.

I know some you who know me personally are thinking, that's great D but where's the video?! Ha!, You thought I would leave you high and dry?

This was from our lunch time session on Saturday. Unfortunately the front camera mount came unglued from inside the fairing on Sunday morning and I couldn't find any two sided tape to get it back on, so this is the best I can give you on this round. Two items to note, around the 4:50 mark, I hit a false neutral! Sounds painful getting back into gear. I was also running out of gas and a few times the bike would seem to stumble while leaning over. I had to back down and get off the track before I got stuck there! Good session but Sunday's was a little better and run in the opposite direction. I'll be working on getting the front camera back in working order. Also, the audio in the beginning is very low for some reason so don't turn it up too loud as when it does kick in, it might give you a scare.

Letting her warm up before riding home from the gym tonight - I don't have the biggest muscles but I've got the coolest ride home by far :D

Did a little bit today. I was able to correctly fit the windshield, so that's good. It's was way wrong and barely hanging on. I also installed the three screws on the left side fairing that connects it to the front fairing. Forgot to do that before the ride. Oops! Tomorrow I may mock up tape lines to start figuring out how I want to Plasti-Dip the two colors. If I like the end result, I'll get new fairings that way.

Packed it for an early morning start to our yearly trip to WSBK at Phillip Island.
I'm very excited, a group of 6 mates and 1500km of windy roads to get there.
What more could a man want.

Replaced the suspicious clutch slave (86 vfr500) with a "new" used stock unit I picked up at Toronto Cycle (soon to be moved or changing ownership). Feels better BUT I still have a slight amount of pressure when I put into first. I can roll the back backward with my feet but should there be any pressure from the clutch when handle is pulled in fully? Maybe an obvious question for most but I am not sure if this is a bleeding issue, plate issue or if there is a bit pf engagement pressure normally present having never had a bike with a hydraulic clutch before.
