Which model to choose for the real VFR feel (not trying to start a war...)?

Ksoholm, thank you. And thanks again for the reviews you sent me.
Jeg kommer sjældent til Jylland på MC, men jeg tager gerne et billede af cyklen på Rungsted Havn, hvis det kan glæde dig :)

RVFR, yes the 400R is certainly a sweet looking thing. But I am getting too old for that kind of toy ;-)

    Michael,

Awesome. My red 94 is the sweetest bike I've ever ridden.

Yeah, I'm still amazed every time I ride it. It handles so well and runs so smoothly. Hard to believe that it's 21 years old.

Thanks. Will be fitted with a white hugger and chain guard in the near future to make it even more white. Just to make sure I have something to do during the weekends - cleaning oil and dirt off the bike :) .

The 6th gen bikes I have ridden feel very much like my 5th gen. I like the sound of mine better, but that's just because of the gear driven cams. Parts are easier to find for the 6th gen. They sold a butt load of those bikes. If you ever think you are going to do any mods, I wouldn't go any older than that. If it's just to fart around on, then get the one that stirs your soul. They are all really good compromise bikes.

Well, I ended up buying an RC36-2, so no VTEC here. But thanks for your info on the valve adjustment.

Gen 4 has everything a VFR needs (gear-driven cams, trick swingarm, wheels same size as newer bikes) and is much easier to service and costs thou$and$ less, so your assertion is up for debate. :Blabla::Blabla:

A Honda sportbike that looks like a '60's refrigerator needs graphics improvements....then you have the other white appliance...........

Monochrome white is the way to go....no decals except the wings on the tank. Sorry, S-Man!

My opinion, fwiw, is that I love the look of the sixth gen, more so than the look of my fifth gen and I've had them both. I've never ridden any other generation VFR, but I can tell you this, the fifth gen is definitely more of a sportbike. I've ridden the 2005 I had on the track and it's a rush. But, comparing the two, it's the 6th for looks and the 5th for fun.

    I plead the fifth...

20 years old the youngest of them, dwindling spares, dreaded honda charging problems. Would have cost about the same price in relation to today.:deadhorse::deadhorse:

I rode a 750 back in the day that was a friends. I then when off for the inline Kawi's GPz. Had two then went to a V-twin Suzuki Sv100s. Now I have the 8th gen. So What I like is what I have. No real reference other that the one back in the 80's on the VFR. Glad that I have owned and ridden for comparison a inline 4, a V-twin and a V4. The most fun bike the 2003 Suzuki Sv1000s with optional full fairing. I mean 117hp @ 417lbs dry is hard to beat for fun at a low price. Best bike The VFR for fit and finish and tech, and hopefully reliability that last year I questioned (Stupid Fucking$10 radiator cap on a new bike);-).

I did not realize that this thread was still active (wonder what happened to alerts...).

Squirrelman, obviously I don't agree, but points for good humour there :)

Since those pictures were taken I have added a white hugger/chain guard in stead of the raw carbon fiber one. So it's even whiter now.. . Also added a Delkevic pipe. That's it. I prefer the clean look. Especially for such an old bike.

The bike is as smooth as ever. I've had no problems with it what so ever. I am thinking of adding a lighter bike to the garage, but I am definitely keeping this one.
