Some of us are not single - lol....

My wife mentioned that I'm not contactable when on the bike - & that she would PREFER that I AM...
So new helmet & comms - Schuberth C3 Pro & SRC bluetooth kit. - lol
    It works superbly.

    Note to single guys.
When your wife WANTS you to remain in contact - DO So...
Fight the battles you can win, not the ones you can't.

As requested. I went for a shakedown ride today. I found the one Green Dot in all of Southern California.

There are some flaws, but they are small.

Oh, I want to add something. Dip You Car has a spray wax type stuff they sell to treat your dip once it's dry. Makes it slippery and easier to clean, etc. The downside is that it's $29.00, which is a lot, even if you only use a little bit at a time.

I put in my thinking cap and decided that was too much money. So, I used this instead and it did the exact same thing, but cost about $5.99 or so.

I do want to use that on the 14' lower fairing. Black to cut some of the red out. I think that you sprayed yours. My project would be more a precise application. Something like someone else did I think as well. See attached photo and let me know if this could be done without a professional.

Which part exactly? Fairings can be removed and sprayed seperatley. You can tape off areas that you don't want sprayed, but the tape MUST be removed while it is wet. Always put a medium heavy coat down then pull the tape or it will tear. Use good quality tape so it's a clean line. It's very doable. I have a track day tomorrow, so I was in a hurry to get it done and since it's my first time and this is temporary, I wasn't too stressed. MINIMUM of 6 coats, or you will have a very difficult time removing it. Wait about 20 minutes between coats. ALWAYS warm the cans in hot water. Hot enough that you can still put your hand in it. This greatly improves the spray pattern and the atomization of the spray. www.dipyourcar.com has a huge selection of colors and products. They also have pearls that you can put on top to give it some flair. You can also gloss it with Glossifier.

Installed some Grip Puppies! My wife ordered me some heated gloves that I'm not supposed to know about... And for whoever was mentioning their RAM mount stem not seatting all that snuggly, i had the same problem with the Cycle Gear knock-off in the photo, and remedied it by adding electrical tape around the base stem where it seats until it was able to snug up to my scrutiny. The VFR was right in that no man's land between the 2 biggest spacers in the kit. [IMG][IMG]

A big thank you again to Duccmann for bailing me out of the situation and to BWEISS for the parts he gave me. You both are amazing people!

Hell, I do want a sema system if I can join or get any of you guys to ride with me in Utah. I see the function of these items when you ride in groups for sure. Hell if I had a girlfriend right now I would get one. But, things as they are the Utah Highway Patrol and the Unified Police (old Sheriff's office) are pretty good at notifying the family! HAHAHA.

How do I know this? A couple of wrecks (Stupid decisions) in my late teens to very late 20's on my bikes. I came from a neighborhood of (Mormon) Old Sheriff's office families and they reported everything to the parents when my name was called in, even if it was speeding. It was good because I got out of a lot of tickets. And "He's in the so in so hospital and fine so come and get him" on those couple of major fuckups! But, even with speeding, or other things they shouted out to my parents even before I got home in my teens, or when I was in my own place and got a phone call from them. It was like I was a 12yr old even being out of their house with my mom calling me with concern. "Sheriff Andy from Mayberry" called them. Not even my ex.

My mother has fought me over owning and riding bikes since she almost divorced my father co-signing on my first at 17. Rightfully so. God bless her! I made a 22yr old promise to her after they last one (breakup and fucking stupid) that I would never get on it, or in it and drink any alcohol while riding/driving or not being sober from drinking the night before. True to this Day!

Yesterday the weather forecast was finally for a dry but cool day so I foolishly pulled the VFR out for a ride after several months winter hibernation. Of course the bike fired up first time and after a cold but clear ride I returned home and parked it outside under a throw over cover expecting to take the bike for another ride in the morning. Overnight the temperatures plummeted and the VFR is now buriied under fresh snow.

Lesson of the day if you live in the mountains never trust the weather forecast. :(

I never listen to the forecast as true living in Utah. Crazy weather. 72 one day snow the next when they tell you something different. ;-)

[/ATTACH] Bars 1.JPG 6 point adjuster.JPG Well at 1am I went out to the mail box to find my new levers. I bought these on ebay like another member and though I will not add them today. I am looking forward to putting them on. They have a 6 point adjustability instead of the 5 point standard. They look quality. Time will tell. But Honda and VFR badging in black and red beats the hell out of the long silver OEM's.
