Heyoo peeps, posting here and there a bit by mobile phone.

But would love to on PC, especially to type up more winded shenanigans.

Anyone have any idea why this is happening or what I need to do to get a box to type replies in?

Using a Dell laptop with Windows 10. This is a recent issue. No updates or any laptop changes between working text box and non-working text box.

Never seen this issue but could be browser related. Try a different browser and see if the problem persist. Sometimes clearing the browser cache can clear things up. Depending on which browser though, the process is different. With Microsoft Explorer or Edge, I believe that you can find that in the control panel. With Firefox, that is done inside the browser 'options' menu. Not sure with other browsers, as I normally use Firefox.

Ewww... think I found your first problem! I'm no fan of Windows, but I have to use it. Since our upgrade to Win10, my distaste for Windows has turned into absolute disgust. Being a paranoid tech user, I prefer to use Linux distros.

If you are using IE/Edge, cannot help at all as I know nothing about them. If you are using Chromium based browsers (Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi, etc..) or Firefox, it could be related to a extension. I have seen uBlock and Ghostery cause issue with text boxes on news sites. Whether that is because of my strict filtering preferences or by default, I can not say though.

If you can access VFRW using a smart phone but not using a PC it may simply be that depending on the browser settings you may need to login every time when using the PC.

Typically the "like" and "Reply" options are not active until you log-in and that colour scheme looks very like the base VFRW colours used before you login.

When viewing VFRW on Internet Explorer there is also something weird about the placement of the "log-in" option because all the advertisements crowd out the "login" message button so that it may not be immediately visible when you first reach the home screen. But if you just ignore the adverts and scroll slowly down it should appear on the right of the screen as a blue button with the "Login or Sign up" message.

Thank you for the ideas! I will try those and especially try using a different browser since I always use Google Chrome.

I do not have my personal laptop since I gave that to someone to use for job searching and taking care of their resume and whatnot.

So the Dell with Windows 10 is my only choice right now LOL and I agree on how terrible it is. But get this... It is the district computer and the district spent a ton of money to reimage all of the laptops with Windows 10. Why? Why!

I will fiddle around with the Dell tonight and see what I can find out.

Oh - It is not your own PC - but a school board computer!

I suspect that equipment provided to schools may have installed a custom version of win10 with extra "net nanny" software allowing administrators to completely block access to suspect websites and probably some functions disabled to prevent creative students circumventing those controls to gain access to adult sites etc.

In which case you probably won't have much luck getting onto VFRW via any of those computers even if you do manage to find/use a different browser as presumably the same functions will still be disabled or blocked.

It may be worth speaking to one of the IT support people as they may be able to add VFRW to an exceptions list for just your user account . Just don't tell them you have "insider" status!

LOL, SkiMad, I will be sure to leave that detail out!

Thank you for the input here. And that date to this is that going through and clearing the cache worked. Temporarily.

So what you have mentioned SkiMad about Nannywares and stuff is true. I can't access the site on District internet, but for some reason this problem persists.

However, just on Chrome. I tried Internet Explorer the other night and it worked. But I thought my Dell laptop was growing propellers and preparing for takeoff while it was trying to load one single home page via Internet Explorer. Bogged down the whole computer trying for a lift off.

My trip thread and longer shenanigan threads may have to wait until I can get my other laptop back LOL

    Thanks for suggestions!!
