Thanks, It needs a little love but it will be worth it - My other RVF is too good to put too many miles on ( it really is showroom quality) but this is an unpolished gem..
I'm still working on my NC24 so can't really work on it (not such a bad thing as it means more riding time - lol). I think for the near future all I'll do is clean it... - after I get the brakes working as they should...

as its freezing outside I thought I'd go & clean up my spare pipes for these 2 bikes...
I'd just cleaned the top & middle for this shot - shortly before my wife mentioned that I was filling the kitchen with fumes - (using Brasso & polish cloths)

All now cleaned, bubble wrapped & put away.

Ok so I was right the brakes needed love - lol...

[IMG]Front Brake Caliper by Pete Smith, on Flickr

Both front calipers now totally stripped & reassembled & happy with the job. Every piston was treated to 2500 grit wet & dry & they now work beatifully.
I suspect that the brakes had not been looked at for a long time..

    I like the airscoops...

    I have had a busy 4 days..
A blown a left fork seal a week ago meant I had to repair that. As I haven't serviced this bike - its fairly new to me, I had a 'little bit of Mission Creep' - lol..

The Screen Support was slightly rusty so sanded with 400grit W&D & painted with Hammerite Satin Black.

Both forks stripped - as one side had failed & I don't know the history ,

[IMG]P1070719 by Pete Smith, on Flickr

fork seals replaced & new oil added

[IMG]P1070721 by Pete Smith, on Flickr

    bottom legs repainted

& front callipers reassembled & looking good

Well the battery also gave up the ghost on Monday - this bike is having to get some love ! - weather it wants it or not..lol

New one ordered but as I've needed to test ride it I pulled the battery from my Red RVF & fired it up for a commute to work...

It seems to be working fine.. :wheelie:

i recently sat on my buddy's NC30 and found that the handlebar-seat spacing makes it far too uncomfortable for me to ride. since my arms are on the shorter side, reaching the bars squeezes my midsection tightly into the fuel tank, the same problem that made me sell my '92 ZX-7.

I have the same issue on the our CBR400RR- it just doesn't feel comfortable to me. I can't sell it as the wife loves it, and truth be told, it's now a stunning bike to ride - even if i don't particularly enjoy it.. I fixed the brakes 'now sublime', the suspension front and rear & the engine is (at 29 years old) makes 64bhp at the back wheel. It howls all the way to the red line due to a full race system and even I think it's loud - lol

But if it keeps my wife riding then I'll keep it going..

I've never sat on a NC30 so can't answer if it's more or less comfortable than my NC35's but I like it..

That looks like a baby blade (CBR400) rather than the RVF 400. Suffice to say I think there is also one of those in Pete's garage...

    Nope - Thats the CBR400R - NC23 (Jellymould).

I have its newer brother the CBR400RR - NC29 which was known as the baby blade.

Ok so this bike is still alive - its been having a little loving over the last couple of weeks & tomorrow morning I'll try and get an MOT on it..
It has been under cover since May last year as I've been dealing with a few other bikes - lol...
However, got it off the stands yesterday & it fired up first press - I love it when a plan comes together - ha, ha, ha.

    So back to pics..
