Wreckers ... online classifieds (Kijiji, Craigslist, Forums), eBay, Amazon, local/regional wreckers ... etc ...

How bad a wreck are we talking? Engine running? What bike and do you have photos?

Sometimes, it's just not worth it depending on how much of a 'wreck' it is - it also depends on your expectation of when you want it running, and your available free time / skills / tools / work space for a project like this.

What gen/year? Anything outside of the 6th gen, you're going to have a tough time finding parts, and at decent prices or in decent condition.

So go for it, it can be very rewarding, just be cognizant of what you're getting yourself in to. I rebuilt an R1150RT that was chucked into a tree. It was fun, but very frustrating at times.

Yeah, it really depends on how "wrecked" it is. Bent forks can be replaced, but a bent frame can be a
nightmare. A cracked headstock will put a real damper on things too. And like was mentioned, an
older bike can be a real challenge to find parts for.

Guys, he wrote me on my profile, apparently, it's the yellow one in the classified ... sounds like he got it for a steal.

Just don't rush it, Brian ... and do a good assessment before you put money into it to make sure it's worth the project. If it isn't, then you have a good parts bike that you can part out and maybe make some cash off of.

    1) get it running

    2) get it FUNCTIONAL (not pretty)

    3) teach Jen to ride with it as a crash mule

    4) after she has some basic skills destination: STREETFIGHTER

    5) or worse case parts bike but i'll get it going
