dunno how far, but I know I scraped centerstand, and both peg feelers off on my 5th gen. I even scraped the damn pipe where it bends underneath somehow likely hit a bump in a turn or something.

Cat all your experiences matter and are of use for sure. The track will help street in all sorts of ways like Lint posted. Some of the big ones are braking limits, steering while trail braking, traction limits (track days in the rain are excellent to do) and many more will make street riding safer. You don't need to be hauling the mail for these skills to be of use on the street.

Actually, opinion without actual practical experience is just speculation... so not all opinion matter.

Does that mean since I've never crashed, that my opinion that it would hurt is purely speculation?

I guess, truthfully I can't say I've never crashed. I've been down a couple times while bicycle racing, and
while dirt bike and mountain bike riding, just never on a street bike. But I don't have the experience some
of you guys have, only about 55 years of riding. :wheelie:

And in all honesty, I'm not all that adept at riding fast on twisty roads. Just too many touring
miles I guess, and not enough self-confidence. But, in my defense, I still have lots of fun.

Yes, especially if you are not practicing good skills or worse, practicing bad ones (See this a lot). This is very evident if the rider is just not "getting it". We see so many students throughout the day and weekend and some we see small improvement, sometimes major improvement and others are the same as the time they rode in, nothing to show for their money. In one of my stints working, I saw a female rider go from nearly 2:00 minute laps to just over the minute and a half mark, that is what I would consider a MAJOR improvement. This was over the course of two days but shows how a well determined student with a good coach/instructor can help ones riding skill in a shorter period of time.

I cannot speak for every track rider but I can for myself, and based on what I see from Lint, we are applying and learning just about every time we hit the track. I have been riding since I was 15 and I'm 52 now, and riding with several disciplines (street, dirt and track) so if we just went on miles and years, I should be a World Championship rider or at least one would think.

Each of us can be World Champion if we close our minds within our own little bubble without considering other possibilities.
Having lived and ridden in four different continents and 11 countries in the world, what little we experience within the US hardly come close to World Championship level.

Perhaps you have not experienced enough of the US yet, its a very big place. I have been about the world even more than you for a longer time. Doesn't mean shit.

I've never claimed that I have experienced enough of the US.
But most Americans are certain that they are better than the rest of the world.

So does living and riding in other countries automatically make one a better rider too? Not sure what your on about but whatever.

If you're not sure about something; you should try and find out before claiming something that you should be World Champion as you stated.

Did you come to that conclusion from talking to most Americans or read it somewhere?

Wow! Talk about not knowing how to read, maybe you should go back and read what I wrote and put the whole sentence it into your quote and put that into the context of your statement, ”Mileage would indicate how much experience you have...”.

Again, not sure what you’re trying state or prove with your retorts, other than to give us your resume of places and miles you’ve ridden.

Do you really need to talk to most Americans to figure that one out?
I've pedaled from coast to coast in the NA continent, camped in back yards, slept in the streets, actually get to talk to people when you are traveling at 15 mph for over 2500 miles.

I read that you are unsure about things in each of your last posts.. yet still think you should be World Champion. Maybe you should have thought through it before making that claim.
