Hello from East Bay Area in Northern California

I am a busy person so was very distraught when someone ran over my commuter moto, a CBR500R. My BF said I had ridden it into the ground anyway, get a VFR b/c he loved the one he had. Oh Baby! This thing is FUN!

AND I am so glad there is a forum because I have questions! Apologies in advance for being needy. I am not new to wrenching on stuff, but pretty new to motorcycles. So I am learning as I go for the past 3 years doing CBR maintenance and little upgrades. (Thanks to my BF and YouTube!)

I hope to contribute something useful in the future. For now, it will be enthusiasm, and maybe some pics of great rides here in the coastal ranges and seaside.

Hi and Welcome to the MadHouse.

As you will soon discover your fiend has good taste as your VFR will be just as happy to take you to the corner shop or right across the continent. There is also a large contingent of VFR owners along the West Coast - most of them on this forum, so if you need help with your bike just post up.

Compared with a 500 these bikes can be a bit top heavy, especially with a full tank of fuel, so take care at low speed or when parking as they can quickly pass the point of no return and take a nap, no matter how hard you try to save it, hence if you are not 6 foot plus then frame sliders may be a good investment.

    Have fun

    FAIL!

Where are the photos of this spoken of VFR. No Pix, No VFR.

All kidding aside, you will get help here when you get stumped. Just post up the issue on a thread if you cannot find an already posted thread about the problem.

Welcome to the World of two wheeled junkies, alcohol induced experts and people who are normal when not riding.

I deny everything you learn here about me and herby declare these comments are produced here at VFRW by a robot sent to infiltrate this site to see if there is any fake help. Gotta run now. The big nurses are looking for me, needle in hand.:Bolt:

Just uploaded a pic from the weekend. Had a quick errand to do but in 100 degree heat. Decided to take coastal view road above Berkeley called Grizzly Peak. Crowded on weekends but coooool. I am only 5ft 6in. So I can touch the groumd on tiptoe and the right boots. Already umderstand that high center of gravity. Any recommendations for frame sliders? I will be looking to see if anything from Sato fits first. Thanks for the greeting and tip!

Requested pic is posted. I testify I am the chick in the helmet. My stand was down at The Wall on Grizzly Peak in Berkeley. Every moto rider stops there at some point. Ex-moto riders too. It's a common hangout to shoot bull, compare rides, catch a sunset. Unfortunately, not enough time for any of that the other day. Enjoy the view!

Apparently, we all haven't figured out what a VFR looks like and need a reference guide with photos.......:Flame:

I recommend R&G, but you're going to have to drill some holes in the fairing. This scares the bejeezus out of most folks, but if you want to know the trick to drilling the holes in the perfect place, shoot me a PM. SF Native, ridden to the wall many times, miss Norcal riding. No such places here in the desert ;-(

Lotsa fun last weekend on a 150 mi trip to S. SJ to pick up a part, and then out to the coast. It's hot here too, very hot
