Hello Everyone. I just purchased a 2007 Honda Interceptor. This is a bucket list bike for me, been wanting this specific model for a long, long time... well, at least 11 years. Just picked it up this weekend, weather has been crap so I've only had a very short test ride so far. Got a bit of work to do, the previous owner let it sit for a year, I've already taken care of the chain which was mostly orange from oxidation. It also has a lowering kit and risers. Definitely want to set it back to stock height, haven't decided about the risers yet. There is also a clicking sound coming from the rear tire area when I have the bike up on the centerstand and spin the back wheel. Only 14,500 miles and I understand that there is a service due at 15k... didn't come with an owner's manual so I'm just guessing at that. Any tips on suggestions that may be VFR specific as I get the bike ready to roll would be appreciated. The Interceptor is currently sharing the garage with main bike, a 2016 Versys 650LT and it's cousin the 2012 Ninja 650, which is up for sale currently. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

At a glance, those tires look like heavily treaded, all purpose, super long mileage tiers. If I'm right, then the first thing you should do is get rid of them. If you are going to be doing a lot of commuting and/or touring, I'd get some Pilot Road 4 or Pirelli Angel GTs, and if you are gonna do light commuting and joy riding, I'd strongly recommend going for the Dunlop Q3 tires - they really are noticably grippier and have more feedback than sport touring tires.
Looking at the hi-res photo, it appears they are Metzler RoadTec Z6's, I've never heard of them before. Right now my plan is for local joy riding mostly, definitely a few day trips up into the mountains. My other bike is the commuter/tourer. I've got to direct my funds to some general maintenance and to restore the bike back to stock height before I swap the tires. However, when I do I will take your recommendations to heart. Thanks for the tip. By the way, I've had Angel GT's on one of my other bikes, loved them.
