Not looking good for Lake Elsinore either.

Yeah, yesterday when riding into Riverside, the Smokey clouds where starting to head a bit North East and block out the Sun a little. At one point the Sun looked like a little red dot inside the Smokey clouds. Looked very ominous! Lots of ash falling everywhere too.

There's a big fire somewhere in Utah that had 500 foot flames

My #1 son lives just 10 miles from the fire on the west side of the forest just off the Ortega Highway, keeping an eye on wind direction and progress. Ortega Highway to Lake Elsinore is closed.

Our sunrise here is quite spectacular right now due to BC's forest fires. We are safe here but the smoke is coming in from the nearby fires. Hope everyone remains safe. A thought goes out to all the firefighters safety right now.

I've lost track of them all, but the sky is finally looking a bit more normal here.

    It's looking bad everywhere.
We're also having out of control fires and evacuations here, and it's the middle of winter.
I think we've only had around 5 days of rain since Xmas.
It's going to be a bad summer.

There is an Australian fireman in California at the moment volunteering (with many anothers who have traveled there)
Unfortunately his own property came under attack yesterday by an out of control fire in the south coast and his wife and family managed to save it.
One family fighting out of control wildfires across the world.

Yes. There is great international efforts at play. About a month ago, we had a whole pile of firefighters from Australia and Mexico arrive here in British Columbia to help out. Same this last year. I haven't heard if ours travel overseas to help out in Australia but I am sure if asked, they would have. We don't have forest fires to speak of at all in the winter months here. Wither too damned cold (flames freeze in place until spring thaw) or too damned wet on the coast, where is just pours all winter long.

You are right lint multiple fires this year in Utah and all over the west. Everyone in the Salt Lake Valley is smoking 3 packs a day without knowing it. ;-)

I believe they doo travel down under to help, we also borrow a few Elvis choppers every summer.
My daughter is in Banff at the moment, and all the pictures she's sending back are covered in smoke.
You can hardly see the mountains.
