I added some clear protection where the boots rub on the bodywork. Front turn signals as well. Not exactly what I was going for as I wanted to incorporate the stock rubber edging, but that meant so much more bullshit for the back plate spacing. I'm happy.

And for sliding front calipers, these brakes are awesome on this bike. So glad I figured out how to combine the components.

14K 700cc motor. Cams and followers look perfect. Restored the crankcase, sand-blasted, painted and cleared every cover. Adjusted valves, new cooling system o-rings and EBC clutch springs.

Instead of dealing with some paperwork issues on the original frame, I'm just going to swap out the frame for this one that's titled in my name. It is also a RC26 frame. I decided to go thru another engine, mount it in this frame with a super clean, low mile wire harness and just swap everything over. Then I'm left with a known good spare motor that has already been gone thru just like the one above. There's also a couple things that will get updated that I learned while putting the bike together the first time.

I am already building a RC24 maternal twin to this bike, but it will have VFR bodywork. That's plenty of 1986 VFRs (four), so I'm not worried about trying to get this frame in my name.

The modified CBR600F2 lower triple clamp made of butter is being replaced with a stock 41mm version from the 88-89 VFR. 20200920_113325.jpg

I learned a couple things (mainly the angle and placement of the adjustable stops) that I am applying to a F3 lower triple (beefier than the F2, but also heavier) for another project if I don't find good deal on the Euro 41mm. I already have 1 more for the next VFR build.

Spent the last few nice days out on some bikes, so progress a little slow. New set-up up on lift.

    20200923_183726.jpg

I remembered to install the chain before the swingarm!

I am making the new engine and frame completely independent of the donors. Extra set of re-furbished engine mounting hardware, water pump and thermostat housing and counter shaft cover.

And another set of air injection block-offs. Used some ignition switch bolts as the "plugs". Valves are adjusted, about half needed a tiny bit of love. Ready for Valve Covers.
