1997 honda vfr750

Hello I'm not very mechanically skilled in motorcycles and I'm pretty new to riding but I need some help. I have to leave the choke on and adjust it to ride and not kill the engine, I was reading on other forums that this could be because of clogged jets in the carb, if this is correct is there a way to clear the jets without taking the carbs off? It probably needs a whole carb clean but I lack the skills and experience to clean them by myself, is there something that I could do that will at least help me till I get payed to take it to a shop?

Seafoam

 

I was going to say run some injector clealner through the system for a few tanks, Seafoam ain't a bad idea, if. also try running top grade fuel, as Chevron or Shell premium as well. might take a few tanks, 300-500 miles. but before i would tackle the carbs, I'd try this first.

One other thing here since 4th gen are getting up there in age, and you mention it needs choke, is to check for vacuum leaks, I had it on one occasion it was running just fine, the next it wasn't, come to find out the rubber plugs used for sync the carbs, one had gone missing in action. they're located on the intake tract , This got me looking at the others and they where heavy cracked. So, might want to take a peek

 

i think its a vacuum leak, am i gonna need a new boot? is it a hard fix? i can take pictures
