Really only 3 reds these days. The Rosso Corso is the standard color for their F1 team. Racing Red. Scuderia is for the most crazy of street vehicles -- they brought it out for the Enzo at the turn of the century. The orangey reds supposedly appeal more to men and the bluey reds appeal more to women, or so their focus groups said. So they go more orange for the real testosteronemobiles.

The reason they have new reds after the early 90s I guess they changed the way they painted -- as well as a lot of other things about the business -- in that era. I had a long discussion about this with one of the test drivers when I worked with them in '06, but the language barrier was so rough that occasionally we had to resort to typing numbers into the phone when he explained to me that the F40 was actually capable of a lot faster than 200mph, so I am uncertain on a few details other than that Ferrari "discovered" things like that they could use the same engine design more than once and reuse the brakes on different models, and this was a business breakthrough for them. Seriously.

That was a weird fucking job.

Anyway, they formulated new paints along with the new manufacturing processes as they were doing stuff like carbon fiber body panels that weren't bolt on -- they were bonded to the chassis and provided added rigidity.

In case people haven't figured it out, I don't give a shit about paint, ferrari, the color of bikes other than mine, or any of that. I just think Italian Red is a pretty color that looked good on my first VFR so have arbitrarily declared it "best." I figure I have as much legitimate claim to authority to do so as Arthur had to be King because some moistened bint threw a scimitar at him, so I continue to tell people it is best. In truth, I think I like the color because I'm intellectually eight years old and it's shiny.

    Wohoo!

Gotta' baptise the thing sooner or later. Not a sport tourer if you don't get it wet at some point.

Looks good with the bags on. Enjoy it.

Thank you! I bought the panniers, rear tire hugger and the 12v plug in all at the same time, so they did discount them for me. I'll get the first 1000 kms and first service done then on goes the Delkevic exhaust that's sitting in the garage waiting too lol!

The bike sounds and rides pretty tame (so far) compared to my RC51 that I had for the last 5 years ;)

Still in the stable my 2004 RC51. Youtube video of my 14 VFR800F with a GPR Racing exhaust for a little bit more sound.

Does your bike have traction control,ABS heated grips and a centre stand? Or is that only on the deluxe version which is not available in Canada?

Yes, mine has those Deluxe options..I think all the Canadian models were the Deluxiests lol! Just going through the owners manual now, making some fine adjustments before I get back out on the road and test that traction control hehehe!
