WTF? I'm having a hell of a time trying to remove the fuse box cover on my '97. I don't want to break it, but that sucker just won't pop off. Manual says lift the front edge and hinge back. Well that ain't working. At least not of me. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

On my '90 (which looks just like yours in the Bike Bandit schematic) the front of the cover has a locking tab similar to what you see on the molex connectors only wider. You have to get your fingers down in front of the fusebox, push the bottom end of the wide locking tab toward the fusebox, and lift the front of the cover up at the same time. Good luck with that - especially in the dark on the side of the road in January! Zoom the schematic way in on number 15 to have an idea of what I am talking about.

I ended up breaking the thin plastic that forms the front of the slot that the tab goes through and locks under. I put a piece of foam under the fairing cover with upholstery spray glue so it presses down on the fusebox cover to keep it closed after that. Here's a picture.
