    Yeah, I knew that, which was why I was waiting until I had to change chain and sprockets.

    I got the 17/45 520 kit and I'm happy with it.
    It suits what I do with my bike.
    And for what it's worth, the stock front sprocket is not rubber damped, it just has a rubber ring around the outside to reduce noise as the chain wraps around the sprocket, it is still solid steel.
