A little weekend getaway

This is the first taste for me, to do what I have been thinking about ever since considering a sport touring bike, and moreso, when trying to buy the VFR.

The wife and I are heading up the coast a little ways to spend the weekend somewhere to unwind, unplug (though, mentally, not literally) and relax in (hopefully) cleaner air. Tomorrow thinking about exploring some backroads, and Sunday a leisurely ride back. Off Monday to do a few things I've been meaning to get to.

I'm hoping for some good pictures and if I can do it without sacrificing her eye sight (from the rolling of the eyes), get some good bike pics too.

Here's the route for today, and haven't decided Sunday's yet. I threw it up on FB because you never know what can happen and I've been involved with trying to find a missing rider when you have no idea of destination or route.

Stopped on the way to get an energy drink in Fort Ross. After getting unpacked, went for a walk and snapped a bunch. Here's a few.

Today we're going out exploring some roads off the beaten path. Will get some more.

Saturday we did a little over 100 miles round trip from Gualala to Mendocino, sipping a couple times for photos and just take in the beauty of the coast.

First stop was possibly Anchor Bay, where we could walk out to the edge and take it in (first four pics).
Next went out to the Point Arena lighthouse to check that out (next four pics). Geologically, I think the formations are incredibly interesting here. And the seals seem to like it too.

Then a quick selfie of us on the bike on the way to lunch in Mendocino (last pic).

Got a few more that don't seem to want to load with tapatalk. We're not looking forward to going home so I'm sure we'll find a round about way.
