I think I'd bring one of those personal tracker things.
So, worst case they can at least hopefully find your bones.
Better case, it brings help when needed.
Best case it hangs out and does not do much.

My first read of the title I thought, this does not seem like the time of year to ride to Alaska.
Then I opened the thread. :single_eye:

    Aww :)

Does anyone remember who that was and what they had for tracking?

Something that can work without cell service I think is what I need.

I would feel very secure knowing you peeps could see where I'm at. And call for help if I go MIA and my tracker doesn't move for a few hours. Seriously need to find a device.

I'd love a new machine for this, but I think it will do. I'm not going north of Fairbanks at all, not going to Deadhorse, and not going to Inuvik on this run.

I was asked today why not...if I'm already all the way up there. I'm excited to know I'll go back and do it again. Gotta leave something for the next time.

Maybe I'll get to do it on that Beemer. 700gs

You can search for GPS devices on cross country or back country sky site or hiking sites. These devices are common with that crowd.. Big game hunting sites might have them too.

Try Cabelas or REI. Both have DEET too.

I wonder if she had any K&N oil filter problems along the way?

Awesome ride thread for sure and one I've been following already, but I'm not sure what this has to do with needing information on riding in Northern BC, Yukon, and AK on a VFR800.

Even if she did, the problems would not be comparable because of the filter being on a different motorcycle. But don't worry, no more K&N for me. So you'll have to wait for another misfortune of mine to happen and exploit.

Just thought I'd share it for you to read, being that she's another female on an epic moto trip. I'm not a mind reader - so I have no idea what you're reading or following.

I just thought you'd enjoy it. I'm sorry to have troubled you.

    GPS tracker secured: Spot :)
Once I get it and set up, I'll let interested folks know how to follow.

The SPOT personal tracker is independent of cell service. Lots of features, but it requires a one year commitment.

I had a GF who reported me to the police for stalking her. Well. She wasn't my GF yet. Actually never did become my GF. She got married while I was in jail.

FWIW There is an app for tracking. We use it on trips etc. It's called life360, works pretty good as long as you have cell service.. almost creepy.

Only if you promise to come find me if I go MIA. Then the "following" may not be so bad. Haha
