Anyone with the 8th generation know why Honda did not put out a 1000 instead of the 800?

The answers to those dramatic questions are left to the drama queens.

I disagree. Knight is a drama queen. This is incontrovertible proof. ;)

I'm not sure it's any clearer since they are identical bikes...

The RC213 can look like a pile of $*^t with a fedora and it would still be awesome (race spec UK version). Who cares what it looks like, it's the fastest production bike ever made.

I would give the OP the benefit of the doubt and assume he wasn't comparing the 8th gen to a $184,000 GP replica.

I find it unnecessary, but thank you for the suggestion. I made my clarification on the correct 8th gen link being commented on, and questioned about. I made a comment that was misunderstood about the 2016 VFRX since that is the only VFR badge sold in the states. Or should we say Gen 9th?

From what I saw on Honda USA website they only offered the 2016 in the VFRX? I did not see that the past and current look and set up of our "Sport Touring" set up where offered here in the states in 2016. That may be my downfall thinking that when I am speaking about the U.S offerings not worldwide. Note to self! I apologize. I love the bike! I also look forward to learning from this group. Instead of getting catty responses to clarify my thoughts. Thank you tyarosevich for not adding that "edge" of response that I have that had 2 potential group members leave as possible VFR owners and/or group members.

Hmm, What is this VFR badge you speak of? I see no VFR emblem on the VFR. Though a lot of folks will call them this, could be a run off from what folks know them by from previous experience. IDK, All though there is clearly a Interceptor name stuck on the side. , I still will always be one to recognize these bikes as VFRs, besides, I've never been a fan of the name interceptor. Curious too, what is it that you don't like?

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that change, 2016? all the ones I've seen and rode had the emblem as Interceptor. I personally prefer this over the Interceptor verbiage, Funny thing about the small details. That's a pretty Sharp looking machine right there, and those wheels, Oooo ; too bad they're 5 lug, way to go Honda, LOL ya think they did that on purpose? ) Now where's that high mount Staintune?

And always has been! I'm on my third and never owned an Interceptor. RVFR, that high mount Staintune is here, and I think it looks weird.

Yeah they messed up, there too much gap, it should be tucked up higher, but it is still the best looking eighth gen option by far.

Hmm, I see what ya mean there, Could have been up a little tighter? wonder if it has something to do with bags? That connecting pipe, there's something weird going on there, That's so not like them. Still, like Candy said best I've seen.

They probably needed to keep the hot metal muffler away from plastic and passenger.

I know a lot of you go for the Staintune, but I agree, it looks way out of proportion.

Badge can mean a shitload of things:

    https://www.wordnik.com/words/badge

More mud in the eye of the generational thing.

Pretty sure Honda Inc., does not make, paint or badge most of their bikes identically.

I have a "Interceptor" on the cowling and now I just added VFR 800 to the tank, so I have both now. So does this mean I can take this bike to the rest of the world now?;-) And by badging I meant what it is decaled with to identify it with to those that see it. Either on the cowling or boldly anywhere.
