Best 50cc Japanese scooter for college?

I love that orange color!

 

I was gonna say something with pedals, that's what I used back then.
But looking at that parking lot...
Must be getting old.

 

I'm really surprised by the lack of love for the Ruckus. The level of versatility is unrivaled at the 50cc level. The aftermarket support is huge too. But even if you don't want to buy hard luggage for it, the naked style of the scooter makes it easy to bungee crap all over the place. They don't make it anymore, but the Big Ruckus was pretty badass and I wouldn't mind snagging one of those "just because".

 

How about take all the money for the scooter and buy him a nice mountain bike? He gets exercise and can take it to some really nice mountain bike trails up there. Kids today are getting really lazy and out of shape. I had motorcycles and access t a scooter when I went to school there and I still pedaled to class every day. The bike ride also helps to make you alert for class.

 

That would probably be my choice - from looking at the way the kids park their scooters it seems a Vespa would quickly get all dinged up - something like a Ruckus you could just throw around without much worry.

 

Good idea Gator but he's already got one. He stays in excellent shape from playing several sports so I'm not worried about him getting fat anytime soon

 

Well then he needs a 2 stroke smoker! He would be the coolest babe magnet on campus. lol
