Yes, Arai's are pricey, but the Signet X (and Q before it) are one of the few helmets that fit my Long-Oval noggin'...

Used to be an arai guy for the same head shape problems. Quantums fit the top of my head, then I'd cram in the 40m cheek pads to give me the proper chipmunk cheeks and be good.

Couple years ago I tried Arais again and it seems in the last 10 years they've kinda gone downhill. They're NOT as nice as they used to be, and are twice as expensive as they used to be. Went to Shark, and LOVE my helmet, but Shark can't seem to hold on to US distributors, so I doubt I'll be able to find another so nice at such a bargain again.
