A quick search on the web reveals that leaking from the nut is quite a common problem. Has happened on CBRs, Triumphs, Yamahas, and also on Accords, Dodge, etc. Complaints on various forums, on Amazon, and even a youtube video of oil spewing out around the nut on a CBR600 (may have been staged, but ...). I have 3K+ miles on my K&N and I think I've pushed my luck as far as I can. Changing over to a HiFlo ...

And please, check my spelling and grammar, I'll certainly do my best to correct any errors ... or not :biggrin1:.

On air filters, if you want to ride right after cleaning it you should own two so it can air dry. If you over oil it, the oil can be sucked into your intake.

I looked into one for my S10. Dyno tests show that there is no benefit below 2500 rpm. Would work only above highway speeds. No thanks

Did OP ever figure out that K&N doesn't sell the product he named in the title?

Leakage from the nut is from messing with those shemales or some feline disease.

I still am unable to find K&N wrench-on oil filters for sale. There's absolutely not product literature either.

There are a few on Ebay that are only slightly used. Great prices.

If ya oil the air filters, use Castrol R. A little gets sucked into the engine and the odor is like a stocker is a racebike. Hot stuff at bike nights unless too many dudes are already doing it.

I don't know who 'the Great Leader" is you're referring to but thank you for the compliment. I do speak this country's native language quite well but don't see what's funny about that. English should be the lawfully required language in what is becoming a great country again inspire of radical people that want to welcome terrorists in our country. Maybe these people should have a terrorist living next door to them. Anyhow, thanks for the compliment. ; )

By the way, "Just like." is not a sentence so no period is required. Go chase an ambulance.

On a Facebook motorcycle for sale page, a guy had on fail on his trackbike, an R1. So it looks like they are just shite quality all the way around.

Yeah that was very similar to my CBR when the O ring leaked at the track. I was sideways getting onto the back straight. Thank goodness I just kept the throttle dialed until it straightened out so I did not do a superman high side. Got off the track asap.

Apart from the nouveau-fascist gobbledygook, you totally missed the reference...

Apart from that little misadventure, I seriously doubt you speak any of this country's native languages.

I have never installed a filter with anything other than my hand. I used K&N oil filters for years because of the pre-drilled hole for safety wiring at tracks with zero problems. Then out of the blue lots of failures started on all kinds of bikes. Its been all over the various bike forums for years now. I bet they changed where they had them manufactured and the mold was just a little different size.

I am back to OEM filters on the CBR 1k track bike and using pain in the ass safety straps at tracks that require it. I will NEVER use another K&N filter. They ignore a known problem and I almost ended up wadding up my shit because of their crap. They have ignored letters written to them and the only response I ever got was a new 204 in the mail from them that I shit canned right away.

:chaingun:the nut is for removal only, install hand tight. A old K+N might leak out at the nut due to thinner metal at nut. But it seems even the o ring maybe at fault-that would be 100% K+N fault. I would sue in small claims for any damage, if it caused a accident get a lawyer. Other filters also fail not just K+ N! I am pissed off today at paying $314 to replace a mail box some ass hole ran over-I have to go though insurance to get my dough back.
