I came across these and was just wondering if anyone has bought these clear front turn lenses? What was the quality? Did they fit right? I bought a Chinese windshield once and thru it away as soon as I openned it it was so bad. Didn't want to waste the three weeks or so and money if they are crap. Thanks!

I tried purchasing some of the Chinese ones for my 2000 VFR and I was NOT AT ALL HAPPY with the fit of the parts. The worst thing was the bolt holes did not seem to line up as well and honestly I was expecting that, and when I went to remove the retainer clips from the stock lights and screw them on to the clear lenses the posts they threaded in to cracked immediately. Personally I wouldn't waste your money. If you want some clear turn signals for your bike Thurn Motorsports offers them but they are considerably more expensive.

Sometimes you get what you pay for.

Now c'mon, Mr. Sleep; judging by your avatar you got a pretty sweet ride there. Don't go all cheapskate and buy Chinese again. You already saw what happened the first time.

    I have these on 03.

so, quality, probably poor, the plastic is thinner than oem for sure. problems, yes. the mount fits as far as if you screwed them directly into the bike but the hole that the bulb goes thru wasn't even close to the same. I took the back off my oem lens which was pretty easy, couple plastic clamps but the ebay ones they glued like a 2 yr old does, took awhile to get them apart and cleaned up. they had the same plastic clips positions as well so they went together fine.

haven't road w/ them in yet, ft of snow outside but they seem solid now.

my chinese windscreen that was 15 dollars shipped only last a year before developing cracks, it screwed in perfect and everything lined up. The old saying, "You get what you pay for" is true. Got a UK made screen now and am happy. :vtr2:

I have these chinese ones on my 03 vfr and I'm really satisfied with the bang for the buck and the final result.
However you need to be aware that you are buying a set of replacement turn signals for the facelifted '06-'09 vfr and those have a different bulb socket.
So everyone who is complaining about the "dodgy" bulb socket should turn they anger towards Honda.

Fortunately you can use your original turn signal reflector with socket and attached the newly bought clear glass....and voila, check them for yourself:

Now if it would only be this cheap with upgrading the taillight :)

I actually had the idea of buying the clear OEM turn signals for '06-'09 and then taking the clear lenses off and put the back from my '05 on them. The lenses are like $25 each and with shipping and a couple amber bulbs it should be around 60 bucks!

Didn't know that Honda changed the bulb socket but they still advertise as: Black Lens Turn Indicator Signal Lights For Honda VFR800 VFR 800 2009 2002-2010

so not sure I'm mad at Honda, they should show the years these are for if Honda changed it.

Just an update: I received the Honda front turn signals for the '06-'09 from Partzilla.com for $54.63 and got a couple of amber bulbs from a local part store for $6.55. Total: $61.18. The back of the turn signals interchange perfectly! Got them swapped over and installed. The clear turn signals look a LOT better on my silver '05 and not to mention they are Honda oem quality.

P.S. sorry to hear about your lens coming off, vfrcapn.

I sent them an email to see if they would replace the right lens. Will see what they reply.

edit: They got back to me and are sending a replacement.

I am a buzz cruncher, its just the fact. I was looking at this here post last night cause I gots one of dem 'smart-fones' and was kind of snickering to myself aboot the lense falling off during your commute.

I was reading aboot the chap that wants to get a wallymart battery and read the post and saw that you had some ok results with one, someone else had a disaster, maybe he had the Monday morning battery and you did'nt, regardless; I think its cheaping oot on a vital part of the bike, not that Wallmart does'nt have good deals, hell I buy my Mobil 1 and other oils there.

The only thing Chinese I buy is food, but a thought came to mind though, you dont drain the motor oil oot of your bikes/cars and use it in your lawn mower ? Then from your lawn mower to say an oil squirt bottle? That kind of behaviour strikes me as someone that would be shopping for a battery at wallmart for their bikes. Just making an observation (mother in law loves that saying.) Feel like saying, if you dont like it, you dont have to eat/sleep/wipe your arse with our toilet paper. :pound:
