FYI I just signed up for Summit Main on March 23rd if anyone is interested. I'm currently registered in Advanced but I may drop down to ride with some buddies I'm going with. Plus I know I'm not going to be very quick right now. Different bike and no track time since October.

Hope to see some others riding these fat pigs around the track

Why don't you guy's ck out R2SL (Racing To Save Lives) that is a charitable event that's the best track day's period ! It's 3 different tracks this year ( MMP in Utah 06/04 & 05 right after WSBK, Hastings NE 07/10 &11, & the big kahuna @ VIR 08/10,11,12,13, & 14th just B-4 AMA SBK weekend) That is the cheapest track day's you will ever have & it's tax deductible

They have Instructors, Pro's show up, Auctions to bid on really nice stuff.
You should ck there web site to see if it will work for you.

I'll be out @ MMP & I'm shooting to be @ VIR as well this year

    www.racing2savelives.org

It's a children's charity fund raiser, which makes it even better

    Very cool site TAZ!

The only issues are the dates. At the moment I don't think I can do it becasue of other commitments ( I am a MSF RiderCoach). However, things change and I am talking to my buddy about this org. I'll keep you posted.

    Hey two!

    August 2 at Summit Point-Jefferson
    September 15 at Thunderbolt Raceway

Those are the only two dates I have so far, time and money may keep me from others...we'll see.

    Hope to meet up!

I can't do this year, but God willing, I'd like to put it on the schedule next year.

I read the website, but can you give me some more details. Like what you like so much about it, other than its for charity:clap2:

Do you do this every year?

    bubbaZanetti,

    I like it because -
    1. It's a charity fund raising event for children
    2. It's Major fun & the cheapest you can get quality track time on great tracks.
    3. You can purchase track time each day in partials or for the whole day.
For example if your a nut like me you just pay for the whole day & run every session, or you can purchase am or afternoon times to save some $$$ or if you can't run constantly.
    4. the silent auctions for donated stuff including 1 on 1 lessons with the Bos Bro's was a pretty cool deal & I new 2 people that won that @ MMP last year.
    5. I signed up this year to be a control rider @ MMP & VIR (possibly Hastings also), but w/o a doubt would pay to do this for the cheap track time.
    6. there is racers/control riders that are great teachers that will do 1 on 1 help with the street only squids or the track guy that wants a little help or pointers to better themselves FOR FREE with track time purchase.

pretty much the web site can answer other questions, but out of the over 200 track day's I've done, the R2SL events was far the best & funnest of them all

Oh & the avitar & sig picturs are from R2SL last year @ MMP !

What I'm thinking is taking some vacation next August so I can be at VIR for a 3-4 dyas. I think that's the way to maximize the R2SL time.

I'm going to talk with my friend Jeff and see about taking the camper and the wives down too.

I like the cause and you are right, the price is damn good. I was looking at paying for a track school next year, but this seems the better way to go and I think you'll agree.

Yes & no, a track school is alway's a plus & will have more (& importantly) class room discussion & tips.

But yes, the R2SL if you take advantage of the free instruction is a major plus with the instructer riding right there with you & pulling you into pit area to tell tips & explain what you did wrong or right & give some more advice.

I've been to many schools to learn more & I help out as a control rider & instructor, & when I can afford it I still do the track schools (in fact I'm doing Freddie Spencers school again this Summer).

You can always teach a Old Dog new tricks:wink:
