Hi all further to my request for help with the viability of Genmar risers of which I have had one good reply so far, has anyone attempted to fit standard bars and mounting clamps to a 3rd gen bike. Just wondering if this is feasible. Thanks folks, your wisdom and knowledge is appreciated.

OK, on the 3rd gen bars, Heli Bars are clamp on, Gen Mars are spacers, and Spiegler (?) are super bike bars with the upper triple drilled and bar clamps bolted on for about a 1 1/2" rise. Any and all of these will work.

I used Gen MArs and liked the little rise provided.

    Hi.
I did it. I fitted handlebar risers and renthal bars. to 97VFR. You will need to trim down front fairings and bit of screen. You don't have to change any cables but you will need to reru
reroute them. Conversion was cheap, I picked up bar risesrs on ebay for 15€. Removed original clips ons and drilled holes for bar risers to top yoke. I ll try to find some pictures and post it for you.

I used this set up for almost 2 years now. Bike is very comfortable even on longer rides. My longest ride was when I was riding back to Ireland from Italy and I did almost 1000km in one day (I was late for ferry from France to Ireland :))
