New to a dedicated bike forum - I've been a bike tart for so long there never seemed to be much point in signing up to anything since I'd have nothing to offer, and just threw away bikes until I had this one. I have a 1998 VFR, nigh on 30k miles, last 10 by me. And I'm now annoyed enough about the lack of replacement options to accept that this is now my bike until it dies, so the only option to keep things interesting is to try and make friends with people who understand the predicament.

The bike has the following, no doubt familiar mods (not all done by me, but most):

    Stainless headers/link pipes.
    Carbon end can.
(glad we got that out of the way)
    MOSFET reg/rec
    Bubble screen
    Unobtanium plugs
    Not shit tyres.
    Condoms

Welcome, and these things can last a long time and lots of miles with some maintenance.
So depending on your age, who might outlast who? :D

Glad to have another VFR owner join the forum. I, for one would like to see some pictures of your '98.

Welcome to the forum. We are a pretty loose crew so have fun with it.

    Welcome to the Madhouse SniffingSwede

We are very easy going on here - so make yourself at home. If you have questions about your VFR just dive on in. Between generation specific sections and the Mechanics Garage hopefully someone on here will be able to advise.

I spotted a similar name appearing on YouTube - and was wondered if you are one and the same? If so I guess you have already come across the usual UK service parts sources like CMSL and David Silver. Sadly some parts are now virtually unobtanium hence for older VFR's breakers yards and donor bikes are perhaps the way to go long term.

    Take care

Cheers guys. I am that same Sniffing Swede on YouTube :) That's mad. I only had about ten views. I pulled all the bike vlogs not so long ago - mostly out of embarrassment, but partly because none were on the VFR.

    Here's the bike:

Love the way the stainless pipes have gone gold :)
