IMG_6456.JPG GG Jr. and I are in Columbia SC at Riverbank Zoo - here's a pic of partial eclipse - full eclipse starts in about 15 min and should last 2 min and 30 sec! Headed to the gorilla and monkey exhibit to see how they react

Full eclipse! My pic doesn't do it justice - it was very beautiful and yet eerie at the same time.

Newly edited version. The full eclipse occurs around the 3:45 minute of this vid. Still pics of eclipse at beginning of vid were taken with iPhone hooked up to binoculars.

Super Cool! We didn't get much blockage at all here - maybe like half? It still hurt my eyes to look directly at the sun... haha

Couple of crappy cell phone pics

through 1 polarized sunglasses lens - can't really tell there's any kind of blockage but the reversed secondary image shows how much was being blocked
    [IMG]

poor man's eclipse viewing glasses - popped one of the lenses out and crossed it with the other

LOL - everywhere in Orlando was sold out of eclipse glasses (it was a spur of the moment thing for us to go) so we made our own eclipse glasses before we left out of old floppy disks cut out and taped onto our sunglasses. But when we were walking to the zoo in Columbia this old lady conned us into buying 2 pairs for $5 apiece. I asked her how many she had sold and she said over 900! Then when we got in the zoo they were freaking giving them away for free - so we got taken big time :D

    LOL. I wouldn't call $5 x 2 big time, but times 900, now you're talking some change!

Cool. Me daughter lives in Columbia and she said the street lights came on, crickets and cicadas "noised up", and the stars came out. Prolly would have been a great time to rob a bank but I didn't think that up..... The zoo in Columbia is a class act. Great for the citizens and visitors. SC is one of the coolest states in what's left (or right) of America......

Yeah the zoo was very nice! The bugs coming out to make noise was really cool - you can hear them fairly well in my vid. I edited all my eclipse vids together and included some pics we took at the beginning. I re-uploaded it in HD since the first vids I uploaded were via non-HD cellular. The full eclipse occurs around the 3:45 minute of this vid. Still pics of eclipse at beginning of vid were taken with iPhone hooked up to binoculars.
