    Hi guys,

new to the forum, just wanted to show a few pics of the full system I built for my '14 vfr
its a 4 into 2, all out of 316 and entirely tig welded.
made the mufflers as well by flattening 100mm pipe into an oval, welding more pie cut sections on and lots of sanding.
    took me forever!

she sounds like a harley at idle which is kinda funny.
power commander 5 and autotune module installed.
    tuning time !

Nice work! Any chance we can get a video to hear the tone of this masterpiece?

think we should test fit that to a gen 6... send it to me and I will test it for you. how does it perform? don't you need o2 sensors for the autotune to work? you might have the bungs there I just did not see them.

    Dang!
That does not look like the work of a hobbyist. Mad skills is right!
Looks like it would have been easier if you hadn't had to make so many angle-cut sections to form the curves?

Sounds quite nice. I take it there is nothing inside to help muffle the sound? Sounds fantastic, but it also sounds somewhat like an open exhaust. Any chance of putting some fiberglass weave or steel wool inside?

This proves thatTig welding truly is an act form
I would give my eye teeth to weld like that
Up here most are still trying to figure out proper stick welding

Sweet!. I like how you came up with two, 2 into 1s there. I bet it's way easier to install. Weight saving?

hey gee whiz thanks for all the compliments guys!

Rest assured I am very much a hobbyist.
allot of it was learn as you go, and trial by fire haha.

yes I have 02 bungs in both exhausts. Their sort of hidden from view but are both nestled in where the two pipes merge into one for each system.
wasnt happy with the chunky mild steel one in the power commander kit so knocked up some better ones one up on a mates lathe and mill

as for the mufflers, they have perforated stainless cores rolled on a cheapo ebay sheet metal roller. no packing as of yet but I think it would definately benefit from it.
I wanted a loud bike guys, I love the v4 sound and after coming from a 95 model with a meaty pipe and engine work to buying this girl off the floor was like riding a sewing machine haha.

As for power, I have only been on one ride and it was bucketing down with rain.
It was hard to tell if it had any more power If im honest, but between that system and the usual airbox mods, plus a power commander and a few days tweaking using the autotune should surely get some decent increases

anyone got a PCV map that they would like to send me that they are happy with as a basis?
the only one I see on the Pcv site is for a pretty basic aftermarket arrow slip on..
they didnt have my exhaust map funnily enough

Ive had a few goes at it lol.
yep, ALLOT lighter. maybe 3kg ?
I couldnt believe how heavy the cat box and stock exhaust was was till I was cleaning up and moved it

Hi hingley, its a practice game mate.
dont get caught up on expensive machines. the biggest mistake i made was upgrading to a digital pulse tig, thinking it would crap all over my chinese one and it didnt.
    the golden rules are
    no7 cup
    2.4 electrode (thoriated)
    gas lens
    flexible head.
    keep ur tip sharp

    thats it!

I love fabrication projects but this one is over the top.
Jibbles, that is just excellent in both engineering and execution!

Holy shit Jibbles - I think I just jibbled my pants :beguiled: It looks and sounds incredible - sounds like a 60's muscle car with a racing cam! I think it's even louder than my Delk mini carbon without baffle - I approve!
