I like Shoei's helmets and I think they are a fine product, but I disagree. The build quality on Shoei's is not, in my experience, as good as Arai. I've never seen a 7 year old Shoei that is still in perfect condition like my Arai - no frayed thread, no tears, no broken vents, nothing.

Well I have just bought a new XR/RF 1200 (NXR) shoei to replace my aging XR1000 that even after 8 years is still in immaculate condition just a bit loose now

It is a lot quieter and cuts the air a lot better no buffeting when turning the head and the finish is superb and the paint is a mile deep

I stopped buying Arai due to the Easily broken and hard to get (here in oz) visor sideplates
Also don't like the visor changing arrangements and the vents on the visor are easily broken in very cold weather ( brittle due to cold I think )

I also Find the Arai's paint more susceptible to stone chips sadly

But all said and done you will need to try them all to get the best fit for you as they all fit differently

I ride everyday all year round and if my helmet is not on my head is always in it's carry bag
