    Hope he's talking about a VFR1200ST Sports biased FJR / GTR competitor :thumbsup: and not some sort of Super DN-01. :mad:

    " Honda boss says new V4 will be ‘a new breed of bike'

    Honda’s hotly-anticipated new V4-powered bike will be seen in finished form this autumn and will be in dealers next spring, Honda’s Senior Managing Director Shigeru Takagi has confirmed.

    In a rare interview last week, Takagi – who was celebrating Honda’s 50 years of racing at the Isle of Man TT – said the bike will be a “new breed of Honda”.

    <snip>

    “We know people think this bike is going to be a replacement for the VFR800 and the Blackbird but we do not see this bike as a replacement for anything. We see it as an all-new breed of machine, something very special.”

    Nothing will be better then Gen 5! Classic! Gen 3 most beautiful-collectible.Remember folks new does not mean better but more $$$$$$

    Ironically New Ducati monsters are junk looking with cheap weld frames and ugly pipes sticking out like cartoon characters.Old Monsters were gorgeous!Just an example of new does not mean better.I am sure ton of examples out there.

    THE DN-01 is strong evidence that Honda may have lost its vision for future development or be totally misguided.

    Have they sold ONE of those yet??

    Me too, his statement got me pondering with the VFR, Blackbird and ST1300 now missing from Hondas line up wonder if the new V4 1200 will be a Sports Tourer transformer ?

    Anybody that bad off should see a doctor. I'd suggest Jack Kevorkian...

    I gotta agree with squirrelman. I am fully expecting this "future" or "new direction" is going to be a disaster of epic proportion. A little bit of "back to basics" VFR is NOT a bad idea. As a life long Honda fan it pains me to say this. If I cant find an "old" honda, I will continue to stick with my '04 FZ1 & start to scope out a big v-twin sport/naked to be my next bike.

    I have friends that just bought a new DN-01 for her and a new 2007 VFR for him. She had a 500cc scooter before. The scooter had 2 wheels in the front and was very cool. Before that she had an FZ6. She just couldn't get the hang of the clutch, which is why she got the scooter.

    I think overall DN-01 is a good choice for those that a clutch-challenged and want something more than a scooter. Try to have an open mind guys! :)

    As far as the new V4 goes... Whatever it is I won't buy it simply because I don't buy new bikes or new cars. Too expensive in my opinion.

    I think it's more a mental block than anything else. I have ridden with her several times and she is a safe, capable rider. <shrug>

    Well, IMHO, I think we ought to assemble the knowledge base here at VFR World and try to figure out how to retrofit one of those 1200cc engines into a Gen5. Once we've found success, then we can strap one of Toro's Superchargers (maybe two would be needed) and really go over the top! :eek:

    If the next VFR will be a big stupid DN-01 or even an over complicated automatic FJR beater then a future Yamaha FZ-1S with a '09 R1 style crossplane crank could well be on the cards in the Future, at least it'll sound and drive out of corners like a V4. :cool:

    Sorry, but the only way to have an open mind about the DN01 is through the use of drugs illegal in most countries...
