I'll play....I'm 24 and I've had 86 VF500 since I was 19. I inherited it from my uncle who had bought it used in 1987. I rode it in 07 and 09 and then I forgot about it when I lost a place at home to store it.

I'm back on it now and am trying to restore the worn components in an attempt to make it safer and more reliable. But as I progress I am realizeing that the uncle never did anything but maybe oil changes. THANK GOD it has been stored in a garage for the past 26 years. That may be the only reason I've had the privelage to ride it.

I'm 21 and I've racked up about 15k on my 1990 Honda VFR750F. It's my 15th bike and one I intend to keep for a long time.

Hey Matt, I bet you're in a group of few on the site, having a bike that made it into the world before it's owner.
I feel young most of the time but I'm probably in the other group at 47?

I might let go of my 1kf soon if I find the right deal... I have a few bikes in mind for my ones, but with 7 bikes (6 that I love..) I'm worried about neglecting them.. lol

Thank god for this statement. Maybe immature and older than 40 but still young at heart every time I swing my leg over my 5th gen. As my grandmother has told me many times "You're never too old to feel young at heart." Though I'm sure she did not coin this particular phrase, she is 99 years young now she did manage to swing her leg over the back of my bike and go for a short ride with me when she was 88. She had a grin from ear to ear for nearly a full month and still remembers the ride with vivid clarity.

    24 now and have 2 4th gens.

My first bike was a. '84 V45 magna. I got that bike right after msf and had 1000 bucks to spent. That '84 magna was the best street bike(in terms of condition and maintenance history) I could find in my budget. I paid 700 for it and was able to buy sufficient gear with the left over money.

The bike did not physically fit me well but I loved the engine and wondered if I could get that engine in a comfortable and sportier frame. Turns out there was the VFR

I parked my behind on one o them Hyosung 650r's a while back, never got a chance to go ride one. They looked like fun, budget fun, but fun none the less. So are they fun or just another bargin hunk o crap that's worn out in a couple years??

i don't know if 34 is considered young. every time i hear the gear driven cams, it reminds me of my old robotix toys. it instantly makes me 5 again.

From what ive read from the forums and past experience...they are good inexpensive bikes but they can have notorious rear brake issues which i had. I loved mine but at this point...my front and rear brakes are in not so great condition and was planning on changing the master cylinders for both and do a caliper swap with an f4 on the front and use as track bike but...2nd gear has been slipping back to neutral sometimes since around 8k miles...i guess mine was just flawed as apparently it isnt common... newer models good if bought new or with lower miles...otherwise....better getting an older more reliable bike...parts are cheap too

25 and ride a 2002 VFR800. I was the only younger guy on my last ride with a sport touring bike, but my wrists weren't killing me 3 hours later either!

...Also I think I surprised a few people by keeping up with most of the litre bike and 600RR's in the bends.

I'm freshly 23 but I'm not riding so much as assembling.
I've got an 85 vf500 that I'm piecing together and my first bike was a 1992 nighthawk 750

Getting older is inevitable, growing up is optional.

-One of the sweetest joys for me is when a squidish kid on a 600 decides to follow me in the twists, and I wick it up and lose 'em. (I'm never growing up. Guess that qualifys as immature too. :tongue-new:)
