I recently bought an 86 vfr500f with some frankensteined fuel lines. I found some pictures on this web site which are probably correct. the photo showed a Y adapter that connects one side to the fuel tank and the other two sides to the carburetors, oh yea it also shows a S flex line that connects the fuel selector to the Y I need the S hose, and the Y tube the rest I should be able to put together with standard flex line. my problem is finding part numbers for these . the Parts illustration have nothing recognizable that I can make out , I have looked on the tank and carb illustrations. anyone know where I can get this information. the existing set up on my bike is dangerous to say the least and I wont ride it until I find the right parts.

Can anyone with a 86 500 shed light on the fuel line beween the fuel selector valve and 2 aft carbs, I can't find anything in the parts manual. I just returned from a honda dealer and they agreed, of course the parts guy wasnt born when the bike was made and they really don't care about the older bikes anyway.

Sorry about that, it seems that if Honda no longer has a part availible, they no longer list the part number.

In this case, if it was my project, I would check with a local auto parts store and see if they have a tee and a flexible length of fuel line of the right size.

Honda can't tell me if they are available because the parts are not listed in the original parts manual (neither the picture or the listing)

They are on the Rear Fender / Spark Unit page.

    5 - TUBE A, FUEL 16954-MF2-880
    11 - JOINT, FUEL TUBE 16959-MF2-880

But that doesn't really help as they are long dis-continued.

The parts fische for these years don't do a great job of breaking out '86 (no fuel pump) from 84-85 (with fuel pump).

WOW THANKS THE FITTING IS AVAILABLE FROM CMS UNFORTUNATELY NOT THE FUEL LINE BUT AT LEAST THAT CAN BE FABRICATED WITH SOMETHING FROM A PARTS STORE. I NEVER THOUGHT OF LOOKING IN THE PAGE IN THE PARTS MANUAL WHERE YOU FOUND IT I FIGURED IT HAD TO BE THE CARB OR TANK PAGES. I'M ORDERING THE FITTING NOW

I am 100% not shitting you... I had a dream last night that told me where to look. Seriously. I worked at a Honda dealer for 12 years a while ago.

Still was weird as shit. Glad you found one.
