Are their instructions posted somewhere on this site for an 8th gen idle adjustment? Not finding anything in a search. This would be for an 8th gen base model.
    Thanks

It's super-easy. There's a small, black knob on the lower left just about the clutch hydraulic. It's almost hidden behind the trailing edge of the fairing. No need to remove the lower cowl. Counter clockwise for slower idle.

My question while waiting for my service manual is do you set it in gear or neutral ? As my bike goes up 250rpm when in gear , currently I set mine for 1250 in N and it goes to 1500 in gear , when I got it , it was 1500 in N which seemed excessive.

I do it in neutral so I can squat down next to the bike on the side of the road. Otherwise, I'd have to be running next to it, I guess. You could do it on a centerstand or floor jack, if you really wanted to do it in gear, but I didn't know people did that. Just stick with neutral as you probably put it in neutral when you're idling in traffic.
