At this time, this is all over a stolen car. I am sure once the investigation proceeds, we will learn that there was more to it than that. I wished it did not happen but I really hope I won't be going to a funeral of someone I know personally. I know a few of them.

Sorry to hear Brother - deepest sympathies and condolences for your loss! Every year seems to be getting worse and worse - seems like there's another entry into ODMP (US) every day or every other day... I hope what has been happening down here doesn't spread to up there! :(

(hope you don't mind if I copy your avatar for a bit)

Not at all. I borrowed it myself. The officer's name has yet to be released.

Thank you for not only posting the his name, but taking the time to look.

Constable John Davidson has immigrated to Canada with his family several years ago. He was a 24 year veteran police officer spending the first part of his law enforcement career in the United Kingdom, and the last 11 years with Abbotsford Police Department in BC. He leaves behind a wife and three adult children. He was reported as being a very community minded person who was always working with the youth in the community, as well as involving himself in such causes as the Annual Cops for Cancer bicycle ride as well as other community minded activities.

I did not know Cst. Davidson. But regardless, he was a brother. I will suit up with I am sure hundreds of police officers from across Canada and many from the USA, to attend his Memorial Service when those details are worked out We are all brothers.

Cst. John Davidson has gone off shift for the last time. May his family find some peace eventually. May John rest in peace now.

The Police in any country do an incredible job and deserve our respect and thanks. Having dealt with my local community police this week in relation to an issue with a family member I am incredibly grateful to the people who put their lives on the line to make ours safer.

Damn! Just Damn. We live in a fallen world and the police are the first line of defense against the lawless and those that would prey on others.

I was proud to serve. Seems like just yesterday. Sometimes wished I still did. too old for that now though.

Celebration of Life for fallen LEO Sunday November 19 in Abbotsford. Going to be a big one. And a tough one too.

As I type this I am watching the television coverage of Constable Davidson's funeral in Abbotsford. And estimated 12,000 people are in attendance including the Premier of the province. 8,000 of those in attendance are piece officers from across Canada and the Pacific NW. Indeed. There is representation there from his previous department in the UK.
