Is 2012 VFR800 same as 2002-2009 model?

You Aussies get the best bikes and your cars are better too. Plus your women are hotter.
    Damn you.
I've been enjoying the V8 supercar series on speed channel.

So back on topic, is this the same 2009 VFR that is sold in US or not? What are the other opinions?
    Thank you!

Nice bike, congrates on the ride I like the black and whites

    Yes,

To the best of my knowledge there is nothing different between the last production model in 06 or 09 and the one currently being sold now. There was a paint upgrade and I believe a minor mapping change other than that the bike is identical. I know a couple of 11 & 12 6th gens that have done the mods your looking at with no issue.

Now I may be completely wrong here, however I was informed a while back that Honda stopped production on the VFR800 a few years back and are still selling surplus stock. meaning the date stamp is a compliance date not a build date. Again I could be wrong and I have nothing to substantiate the statement other than the conversation I had with a rep for Honda.

    Cheers Daniel

Good choice & congrats. Still don't come with ABS though (or am I wrong?, nope, checked the Honda site). One of the local (as in Aussie) bike mags said that they would. No doubt it will happen. God the amount of B&W being sold, you would expect to see them every bloody where, which you don't. I feel sorry for all those people that bought them (& paid extra) as a "Limited Edition" a few years back, I guess Limited Edition means "Until sold out", like the Guzzi Special Edition V75, still very tasty though, wish I had a few extra grand laying around.

Yup, no ABS... however given the crappy roads we've got we may not need it ;)

    hi

yes they made vfrs 800 in 2012 and they are still making them .. you can even get a 2013 model here in eu. i have a 2003 and my friend just bought 2012 model. Basicly they are the same but the ride and throttle response is much more smoother and easier to handle. We are a team of 4 vfrs.. 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2012.. i have driven them all.. 2003 and 2006 are the same, 2008 had some remapping done and is smoother but still not as smooth as 2012... oh i wish i had money to buy new one :p

Yep they are still making the 800 my plate date
    Jan/2013
Honda USA dropped them from there sales ( ???)
But as most of the after market accessories are mainly manufactured for
The larger market ie the USA and EU they base it in the 2009 mod,
There is only minor changes so most after market stuff fits

I guess we are lucky here in OZ
