That's about 6 hours from me.

That's a good break-in ride home. Definitely go for the new one if you can swing it, if nothing more than history and warranty.

OK, you guys convinced me to check with my dealer before completing the deal. I just sent off an email to the Sales Mgr that I previously bought from, asking for a competitive offer. This would also give me the option to put down a large down payment, and free-up some cash with a small loan (1yr), as I'm a wee bit over extended. I don't expect he'll be able to beat it, but I'm giving it a shot so I don't have to always wonder.

My dealer can't do it. I can't find a new DLX anywhere in CA for much less than he quoted, which was around 11K. Disappointing, but again, this is CA.
I could probably get a new F model for 8k, but basically I'm getting a good upgrade, all the cases, minus dealer fees, for the same price, with only break-in mileage. I'm on the outside of my budget currently, and don't want to break 8K.

Hey Headshrink! I remember you from the 500 forum. I traded my 500R for a 2015 white deluxe with about 2000 miles on it last June. I went in for an oil change on my 500 and left with the VFR. No regrets. Get it!

Yup, that's me! Nice to see you here. Thanks for the encouragement, it's hard to let go of a bundle of cash that SHOULD go into other things. My plan is to not look back once I jump.

Question for my test-ride tomorrow. I was watching a youtube video of another DLX model, and the guy said the ABS and Trac Control lights initially stay on until you reach about 5mph. Is this true?
