Lately, a lot of folks have been acting like noobs if they disagree with someone. May I suggest Paris Hilton's forum if you're so easily offended, or must flame a member at a motorcycle forum. To quote Ferris... it's just the internet!:lever:
I think the discussions around here are alot more polite than the ones on VFRD. I rarely go there any more; don't think I've posted there in a month. The atmosphere around here is calmer. And you 5g owners need to realise that the 4g is the best VFR EVER!
OK, that's it!, the gloves are OFF, buddy!! This site is truly much more user friendly than it's competitors. I'm at home here.
I would believe it before I rode Reg71's gen 5 the other day....now I want his motor in my gen 4 bike Best of both worlds then! If you think other wise then you can just kiss my .....oh wait Im not at VFRD... never mind:tongue:
I agree with Legs on this, you have to chill sometimes and remember where we are. In fact Legs told me to "get a life" on another thread, and I had to laugh it off. What else could I do with a 12 year olds' comment! LOL This forum is much more lax with its members! I was kicked off VFRD permanently because I was expressing my opinion no differently than is allowed around here. The moderator just didn't like what I had to say. Happy bnew year everyone.
I hope we can keep the vibe we have here. I like the fact that people can flame up every once in a while and not be kick/banned. We all have bad days, but our job as moderators is to keep a watch out and try to keep the flames down a bit if it looks like it's getting too personal. Hopefully, we keep a pretty laid back feel to the whole place for everyone.
So far, the only people we've banned are the ones that join and immediately post a message about some cell phone sale or something. Hell, if the salesman owned a VFR, we'd probably even allow that! :yo: That being said, Reg and Vman are doing a great job of keeping an eye on the threads, and when an individual topic starts getting out of hand, they'll step in and cool things down (thanks guys!). But we definitely don't believe in banning anyone unless it's absolutely necessary. Having a difference of opinion is what life is all about! If we all believed the same, how boring would THAT be?! :noidea:
Yep, what Michael and Reg said. I know if I had a heavy hand it would brake my keyboard. muahahahahaha. Chill? We have plenty of ice so it should be easy enough. hehe. Just be sure to chill responsibly. lol lol lol
4G riders are just jealous because the 5G's have a better and bigger motor on the VFR's, Size does matter!!! P.S. I wonder how many other 4G riders wish they had the 5g motor, It's O.K. were all family here, You can come out of the closet ound:
Thanks Legs! The internet has a way of making people sound worse than they are. No tone, facial expression, etc. It's funny - when you finally meet someone that you thought was the world's biggest pinhead from their posts, they are invariably decent in person.
Count me in as a permanent defector from VFRD for many of the aforementioned reasons, and more. Thanks for having a better site...the TX VFR garage is the finishing touch.
that's funny you should mention Texas VFR garage. I was just about to ask Michael if the site was getting any business. I click the button occasionally to see what's in there but haven't really thoroughly looked at it. I like that I know there are some old articles I can look up about my bike if I search through there, though.
Absolutely. There's a lot of good information in there that serves as a reference...because of that fact it may not get much traffic except for when someone needs to look up that obscure bit of info. But when they need it...that part of the site is indispensable.
I had a 4th, put 25000 on it and rode a 5th and was taken by the engine. I like the 4th for it had way better detailing and the all analog gauges. It also feels smaller than the 5th - even though it isnt. I miss that bike! It was a bike Ducati could have built. -The 5th is the performer - engine/brakes/handling. When I rode it and jumped back on the 4th, it was obviously time to upgrade. So really now, to put it in perspective you gotta have both! MD:smile:
I liked the 4g gauges also. I think I may have liked them better than mine. I kept lookign down at them while riding Brians bike thinking they looked pretty cool. I was looking at my gauges today and onticed the outside shape is very similar to my old VF 500 gauges...
