Ok, it looks like my new bike is missing 2 bolts that hold the top of radiator/guard in ? Are they some kind of cam lock pin or ? I need to run up to dealership and see if I can get them.

You may not be missing anything. I would wait for the other 8th gen fellas to chime in before going to the dealership. Check out an online parts break down first to see if there are any fasteners in that area.

jeezus ! percentage-wise that plastic guard blocks about 30-40% of the radiator area, and that can't be good for cooling !!

this is all pure stock from factory. It seems to be used to block debris flung off tire , I agree it does block alot of air. DO any of the aftermarket guards work better ?

But the rad looks to be missing 2 fasteners.

Your not missing anything, guard snaps in and is held in by side panels. Be aware there are several different types of bolts with different shoulders. I would use little cups and keep track of where the came from.

Yes, push fit at the top, one 5mm bolt each side lower down. It does let through an incredible amount of road crap though. Had my fairings apart this weekend for the first time since winter and this is what fell out...

It's not a solid lump, just sand and grit compacted together. It collects in the front section of the belly pan and sticking a hose in through the gap at the side to wash it clear obviously doesn't work!

(and that's with a fender extender!)

Well, if your 8th gen is missing something from those two fasteners, then mine is missing the same part.

    It's a conspiracy!
