Fed Ex showed up earlier today with my new Akropovic slip on for my VFR800. It took about 20 minutes to install after I borrowed the proper Torx bit to tighten the header clamp. I removed the baffle and was able to putt down my block a very short distance. It looks like rain and 46 degrees for a high tomorrow. Saturday will be 64 and blue sky. I know what I will be doing.

So what are your first impressions of the sound...With and without baffle?

Sounds pretty much stock at idle with the baffle. At idle with the baffle removed it had a nice low rumble louder than stock. I rode it all of 300 feet with the baffle removed last night about 10pm. The jury is still out on the at speed run. I will update.

Those Akra's are pretty big cans...are you happy with how it looks on the bike, now that you can walk around and get a good look at it in person (as opposed to all the pictures you probably looked at first)? That's one of things I like about the DAM is the smaller size and unique shape.

It is a bit larger than I would like but I am very happy with the quality of the pipe. I guess I am a sucker for "Big Cans".

I have the Same pipe of my 2014 Deluxe in white as well. I haven't removed the baffle yet, but I'm pulling the bike out of winter storage tomorrow and I'll give it a try.

That's awesome! I mean, if you're gonna push the crazy limits anyway, you might as well go completely insane. I would love to cruise around on that, just to watch everyone cracking up!

Just back from my first ride with my new pipe. I think the sound with the baffle removed is perfect. It has a nice rubble at idle up to about 5k. At that point the wind takes over and I wear ear plugs. I will have to ride with a few bud's to see what they think. I made a good choice in the Akropovic.

Just back from my second ride with NO earplugs. This pipe sound great! Oh and no popping or crackling on decel.

It will be interesting to hear ours side by side. I would think they would at least sound similar, but who knows. I will probably ride tomorrow.
