Interesting how the VTEC dip is lessened with the exhaust, and no other fueling changes.

In GatorGreg's case, I think it looks pretty good...but I can dig what you're saying.

I think about that at the local bike/car shows every Sunday. Spend $50+K on a nice looking car and buy some cheapo $200 cast wheels. Yucko.

I have to say...and it may be a bit fuzzy as the last time I rode a bone stock VFR was last year...but the "cross-over" seems way less pronounced with this pipe. You can obviously feel the power difference, but it really feels a lot more smooth and seamless.

Thanks for posting the DAM dyno Kat - it looks very similar to the one for the Delk in that it smooths out the VTEC transition substantially, adds a few peak hp, and offers a bit more hp throughout especially at the upper rev range around 11.5k rpm. I don't feel any dip in power at all now when the VTEC activates, just a slight surge in power and a raucous change to the exhaust note - LOL. I'll post a pic below of the Delk dyno for comparison along with a (photoshopped?) photo from their website of their carbon mini model like mine on a red 8th gen:

LOL, that reminds me - I was at a stoplight a few days ago waiting to make a left turn when a nice VW GTI pulled up on my left and I noticed it had one of those ugly-ass temporary skinny spare wheels on the right rear. When the light turned green, much to my surprise it accelerated like crazy as it made the left turn - I thought to myself - who would do that on a temporary spare wheel - they should be driving slowly to the nearest tire shop!?! And then as we finished the turn and it sped away I noticed he had the SAME skinny temporary wheel on the left rear as well - LOL! I guess this is a fad now among hard-core front wheel drive boy racers trying to cut weight? :D

As for the Delk, I'm no metallurgist but they claim to use 304 stainless steel - I assume that's considered to be good?

"Delkevic Mini 8 inch round carbon fiber mufflers are made from a pre-formed composite carbon fiber sleeve and high grade 304 stainless steel. They have a large slash cut outlet highly polished both inside and outside."

Would it have a big problem for Honda to put the pipe on the left side and show off the whole wheel? Sheesh.
Either pipe looks good to me, the Delk looks loud, due to small size. Maybe it's not. :Noidea:

It would, as the bike would then have too much weight on the left side. The impeccable balance would be lost.

In the case of exhausts, yes, it's the right stainless to use.

SS304 or Staybrite 18/8 has the best resistance to stress cracking at higher temperatures. Basically if you have an exhaust system out of SS316 marine grade, it would crack much quicker than SS304.

It's also easier to shape and weld making it better suited to making exhaust systems from.

It would surely suck if your exhaust canister cracked.
Don't think I have ever seen one that did though.

Thanks for sharing, Dam looks great, and I had stumbled on their site.
Still looking at the moment. I need to sell my old Yam before I can upgrade the pipe. Arrow Pro-race with Carbon Cap is favourite at this point.
2 weeks of ownership and loving it.
