New fairings / heat shield needed?

Hi guys,

I bought complete new set of fairings ( no chinese crap no more ). Everything fits like factory, threads are made for oem screws and bolts, holes align no problem, proper heavy plastic etc. I am very happy with it.

They never supplied with heat shield protectors / stickers for side fairings and I don't remember of OEM fairings had them at all? Do I need to install them? Will fairings melt under engine temp? Anyone has any experience with it?

I don’t think my OEM fairings have any reflective stickers or other heat shielding on them.

I’m curious, how much did it cost for the full OEM set? Mine are a bit rough.

Hi Stubbs,

Once I bought full set from USA(Chinese set) and they were so bad that I had to re-drill holes , stretch them , it was a f. nightmare... Now I bought a set from owiewki.pl (they have web in english and polish) and they are EXCELLENT copies of OEM, like OEM, good heavy thick plastic with what looks like fiberglass inside them. Check the website.

 

I emailed them and they said the could not be sold to the United States.

 

I am sorry to hear that. They sent them to Ireland ok.
