No fuel pump from factory on a 1986 vf500f interceptor

    Why doesn't the 1986 500 interceptor have a fuel pump from the factory when the 85 and 84 models have a fuel pump

    OK thx I thought that was why and if it doesn't have the fuel pump system the gas tank would be the same because I have 2 84 parts bikes and my 86 tank is just butchered so I would like to put the 84 gas tank on it and paint it to match the 86 paint scheme

    My '86 is a vacuum feed with a spring loaded diaphragm. When the engine sucks, the lower pressure sucks open the diaphragm and the gas flows. My 500 had a broken diaphragm, so it overwhelmed the needles filling the jugs with gas. Creepy. Working on it soon.
