On my 2000 VFR, the high beam went out (left side only?) I got no lights up front when switching to high beam. The low beam (both headlights) still work fine. Do I need a special bulb on that left side?

... Funny... This occured within 24 hours of me installing a Carbon fiber Micron High mount muffler.
Even though I kept the recommended clearance between the muffler and the plastic under the seat, I noticed that the plastic gets quite hot, and there are two litle black boxes under there... Is this related?

that is funny. i wouldn't think it would be related. there are a lot of options as far the headlights go. there was a pretty long discussion about all the different options people have gone with. I thought about changing mine, but I don't ride that much at night and when I do, the stock bulbs seem fine to me. I did see the Sylvania silverstars or whatever at kragens the other day for about $25 ea, though which I guess isn't too bad if I ever do have to replace a bulb or two... about the black boxes, did you look in your repair manual and see what they are? I'm assuming all your wiring is intact. I would think a wire would melt before the plastic box would get hot enough to cook whatever was inside.
